<br />OF RIVER BEND ENTERTAINMENT, INC. TO CLOSE MICHIGAN STREET,
<br />BETWEEN WAYNE AND JEFFERSON, TO CONDUCT "ROCK THE BLOCK" -
<br />JULY 10, 1993
<br />Mr. David Letcher, President, River Bend Entertainment, Inc.,
<br />Diamond Dave Promotions, 17331 Willow Brook Drive, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to close the 200 block of
<br />Michigan Street, between Wayne and Jefferson Boulevard, on
<br />Saturday, July 10, 1993, from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
<br />Mr. Letcher advised that the purpose of this closing is to
<br />throw a Block Party with three (3) live bands. He noted that
<br />they have been in contact with Center City Associates and
<br />they are behind this effort one hundred per cent. They have
<br />also been to all merchants in the area and handed out letters
<br />explaining this event and have had a very favorable response
<br />from all of them. They have additionally talked to Police
<br />Corporal Ronald.Glon of the South Bend Police Department
<br />about hiring off duty officers for security.
<br />Mr. Letcher also asked for permission to tie into the
<br />electric under the street for power and permission to sell
<br />pop and beer with local merchants selling food outside.
<br />It was noted that this event is being sponsored by 95 WAOR,
<br />Civitan and Budweiser. A percentage of the proceeds will be
<br />donated to Heart City Civitan and Center City Associates.

<br />BLOCK PARTY - JUNE 13, 1993
<br />Mr. Orlando Swanson, 235 North Huey Street, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And
<br />Blocking Of Access To Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or
<br />Similar Event, requesting that Huey Street, from Orange
<br />Street to Linden, be closed from 2:30 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on
<br />Sunday, June 13, 1993, for a Block Party/Graduation Party.
<br />TO CLOSE HAWTHORNE DRIVE, FROM COLFAX TO WASHINGTON, FOR
<br />NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY - AUGUST 21, 1993
<br />Mrs. Melissa DeClercq, 130 North Hawthorne, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of And
<br />Blocking Of Access To Public Right -of -Way For A Party Or
<br />Similar Event, requesting that the 100 block of North
<br />Hawthorne Drive, from Colfax to Washington, be closed from
<br />4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 1993, for a
<br />neighborhood block party.
<br />OF YWCA TO CLOSE RIVERSIDE DRIVE, FROM BEALE TO BOLAND, IN
<br />CONJUNCTION WITH RUN, JANE RUN EVENTS - SEPTEMBER 12, 1993
<br />Ms. Jan C. Halperin, Director of Development, YWCA, 802 North
<br />Lafayette Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana, advised that the
<br />YWCA of St. Joseph County will again hold its 9th Annual Run,
<br />Jane, Run events from August 27, 1993 to September 19, 1993.
<br />The run portion of this event will be held on Sunday,
<br />September 12, 1993.
<br />Ms. Halperin requested that Riverside Drive, from Beale to
<br />Boland, be closed on Sunday, September 12, 1993 from 8:45
<br />a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for the following events:
<br />1 Mile Fun Run 9:00 a.m.
<br />5K Women's Run 9:30 a.m.
<br />5K Mile Walk 9:30 a.m.
<br />5K In -Line Skating 10:15 a.m.
