<br />AWARD QUOTATION AND APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - MONROE PARK
<br />HDC LANDSCAPE PLAN
<br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Tom Eddington, Department of
<br />Economic Development, recommended that the Board award the low
<br />Quotation submitted by Foegley Landscape, Inc., 52215 North Lilac
<br />Road, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $24,880.00 for the
<br />above referred to project. It is noted that Quotations for this
<br />project were opened by the Board on May 10, 1993.
<br />Additionally, Mr. Caldwell advised that the appropriate
<br />Construction Contract for this project has been submitted for
<br />approval.
<br />Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the recommendation be
<br />accepted, that the Quotation be awarded to Foegley Landscape,
<br />Inc., in the amount of $24,880.00 and that the Construction
<br />Contract as submitted be approved and executed. Mr. Caldwell
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS -
<br />CONSTRUCTION OF F. JAY NIMTZ PARKWAY, FROM MAYFLOWER TO KENMORE
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested
<br />that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the
<br />construction of the F. Jay Nimtz Parkway, from Mayflower Road to
<br />Kenmore. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this request be
<br />approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE REQUEST OF MADISON SCHOOL PARENT/TEACHER ORGANIZATION TO
<br />CLOSE PARK LANE, FROM LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD TO MAIN STREET, IN
<br />CONJUNCTION WITH ICE CREAM SOCIAL TO BE HELD AT LEEPER PARK - MAY
<br />21, 1993
<br />Ms. Pam Lofgren, Assistant Vice -President, Parent Teacher
<br />Organization, Madison School, 832 North Lafayette Boulevard, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an Application For Use Of
<br />And Blocking Of Access To Public Right -Of -Way For A Party Or
<br />Similar Event, requesting that Park Lane, from Lafayette to Main
<br />Street, be closed from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 21,
<br />1993, in conjunction with the Annual Madison School Ice Cream
<br />Social that will take place in Leeper Park. Mr. Caldwell advised
<br />that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations
<br />concerning this request from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting,
<br />Police Department and Legal Department. It is noted that Madison
<br />School will also need permission from the Board of Park
<br />Commissioners to conduct this event in Leeper Park. Therefore,
<br />Mrs. Mueller made a motion that this request be approved subject
<br />to the appropriate approval from the Board of Park Commissioners.
<br />Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and
<br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation:
<br />- OF SECOND BAPTIST CHURCH TO CONDUCT WALK - MAY 31, 1993
<br />Mr. Clide Austin, 55778 Booker Avenue, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />advised that the Memorial Day Walk Committee of Second
<br />Baptist Church, would like to conduct a Walk beginning at
<br />11:00 a.m. on Monday, May 31, 1993. Mr. Austin noted that
<br />the Walk would begin at Lafayette School on the corner of
<br />Lombardy and Linden and proceed west on Linden to Gale and
<br />finish at the Second Baptist Church. It was noted that the
<br />Walk will take place in both the City and the County and
<br />approximately fifty (50) to one hundred (100) individuals are
<br />expected to participate.
