REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 19, 1993 <br />Mr. Leszczynski reminded those present that the Board reviews <br />these types of vacation petitions on technical regulations. Any <br />other issues are resolved by the Common Council at their Public <br />Hearing on this vacation. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - VACATION OF 1ST N/S ALLEY W. OF SOUTH <br />LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD AND THE 1ST E/W ALLEY N. OF WEST BROADWAY <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Common Council has submitted to <br />the Board a Vacation Petition as completed by Ms. Paula N. Auburn, <br />President, South Bend Redevelopment Commission, 1200 County -City <br />Building, South Bend, Indiana, and Omega Properties, Inc., by Ms. <br />Ann E. Kolata, 1220 County -City Building, South Bend, Indiana, as <br />Contact Person to vacate the following alleys: <br />The alleys to be vacated are described as the first <br />north/south alley west of South Lafayette from the north <br />right-of-way line of West Broadway to the south right- <br />of-way line of West Stull for a distance of <br />approximately 542 feet and a width of approximately 14 <br />feet; and the first east/west alley north of West <br />Broadway from the east right-of-way line of South <br />Franklin to the west right-of-way line of the first <br />north/south alley east of South Franklin for a distance <br />of approximately 159 feet and a width of approximately <br />14 feet. Parts situated in Stull's Second Addition to <br />the City of South Bend. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable <br />recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the <br />Department of Economic Development, the Area Plan Commission, the <br />Engineering Department, Fire Department, Police Department and <br />Legal Department. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the <br />Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Mrs. Mueller seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL CANOPY AT 125 SOUTH HILL <br />STREET (CARI SHEIN) <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that t <br />h <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - TRUCKING <br />AND HAULING SERVICES IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CITY'S LAND <br />APPLICATION PROGRAM - DIVISION OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Robert Kruszynski, Manager, Division <br />of Environmental Services, requested that the Board advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for trucking and hauling services required by <br />the City's Department of Environmental Services, in conjunction <br />with the City's Land Application Program. Mr. Kruszynski noted <br />that this service will be required at various dates throughout the <br />1993 calendar year to haul belt pressed wastewater sludge from the <br />City's Organic Resource Facility. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that <br />the request be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - CONTROL <br />INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM - PHASE I - WASTEWATER <br />TREATMENT PLANT <br />Mr. John J. Dillon, Director, Division of Environmental Services, <br />requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for the <br />
