<br />motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and carried,
<br />Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit
<br />were approved and the Maintenance Bond as submitted was accepted
<br />for filing.
<br />APPROVE CONSENT TO ANNEXATION AND WAIVER OF RIGHT TO REMONSTRATE
<br />Board Attorney and Member Mary H. Mueller stated that the Board is
<br />in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right to
<br />Remonstrate for the Martin's Supermarket property located at S.R.
<br />#23 and Ironwood Road. This Consent was signed by Mr. Robert E.
<br />Bartels, President, Ironwood North L.P., a Delaware Limited
<br />Partnership by Barjo II, Inc., General Partner, as well as Mr. Sam
<br />Mirkin, J.A. Mirkin Realty, Inc., Isadore Mirkin, Mollie Mirkin
<br />and Minas M. Matheos. The Consent indicates that in consideration
<br />for permission to tap into the public sanitary sewer system of the
<br />City, to provide sanitary sewer service to the property described
<br />in the Consent, the individuals named above waive and release any
<br />and all right to remonstrate against or oppose any pending or
<br />future annexation of the property by the City of South Bend.
<br />Therefore, Mrs. Mueller made a motion that the Consent be
<br />approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />AWARD BID - REFURBISHING OF ONE (1) 1500 GPM 3-D PUMPER
<br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that
<br />after reviewing the bids submitted on March 15, 1993, for the
<br />refurbishing of one (1) 1983 3D fire truck, he recommends that the
<br />Board award the bid of Renewed Performance, Inc., P.O. Box 196,
<br />Tipton, Indiana, in the amount of $68,882.00 plus options of
<br />$6,667.00 for a total bid award of $75,549.00. Mr. Leszczynski
<br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be
<br />awarded. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.

<br />STATIONS TO CONDUCT LOTH ANNUAL SPORTSMED MARATHON, 5K RUN, 10K

<br />- REQUEST OF GRAND ENCAMPMENT OF INDIANA INDEPENDENT ORDER
<br />OF ODD FELLOWS TO CONDUCT ANNUAL MOTORCADE TO CITY CEMETERY -
<br />MAY 16, 1993
<br />- OF MICHIANA WATERSHED TO CONDUCT ANNUAL RIVER RUN - JUNE 12,
<br />1993
<br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the above referred to requests, which
<br />were submitted to the Board on March 1, 1993 and March 8, 1993,
<br />have been reviewed by the appropriate City departments and bureaus
<br />and approval is recommended. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a
<br />motion that the requests be approved. Mrs. Mueller seconded the
<br />motion which carried.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Mueller and
<br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate
<br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation.
<br />- OF CITY AWNING TO INSTALL CANOPY AT 125 SOUTH HILL STREET
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Hank Craft, Sales Representative,
<br />City Awning of South Bend, 1731 South Franklin Street, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to install a canopy at Cari
<br />Shein, 125 South Hill Street, South Bend, Indiana. Mr. Craft
<br />noted that the canopy will extend over the public sidewalk.
