1 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 22, 1993 <br />Ms. Jacqueline MacKenzie, Chairperson, St. Joe Valley <br />Watercolor'Society, 1919 Aspin Drive, Elkhart, Indiana, advised <br />that the St. Joe Valley Watercolor Society will again sponsor <br />the Annual Leeper Park Art Fair on June 18-20, 1993. <br />As in the past, they would like the following: <br />Change Riverside Drive, on the north side of Leeper Park, <br />to one-way west. <br />- Change Park Lane, on the south side of Leeper Park, to <br />one-way east. <br />- Post "No Parking" on one side of Riverside Drive. <br />- Post "No Parking" on one side of Park Lane. <br />- Traffic control and security assistance from Civil Defense <br />Police. <br />- OF ST. JOSEPH PARISH TO CLOSE ST. LOUIS BOULEVARD FROM LA <br />SALLE TO COLFAX, IN CONJUNCTION WITH 140TH ANNIVERSARY <br />CELEBRATION - MAY 1, 1993 <br />Ms. Betsy Harriman, Parishioner, St. Joseph Parish, 226 North <br />Hill Street, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an <br />Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public Right - <br />of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, requesting that St. Louis <br />Boulevard, from LaSalle to Colfax, be closed on Saturday, May <br />1, 1993, from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in conjunction with the <br />Parish's 140th anniversary celebration. <br />- REQUEST OF DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC PARKS TO CLOSE NILES AVENUE, <br />FROM WASHINGTON TO COLFAX, IN CONJUNCTION WITH KAYAK RACES ON <br />THE EAST RACE - APRIL 24-25, 1993, JUNE 18-19, 1993 AND AUGUST <br />14-15, 1993 <br />In a Memorandum to the Board, Mr. Karl Stevens, Department of <br />Public Parks, requested that Niles Avenue, from Washington to <br />Colfax, be closed from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on April 24-25, <br />1993, June 18-19, 1993 and August 14-15, 1993, in conjunction <br />with kayak races on the East Race. Additionally, barricades <br />are requested to close the street and "Slow" signs for Colfax <br />and LaSalle for pedestrian crossing. <br />REQUEST FOR DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE - 1302 NORTH <br />COLLEGE STREET <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Albert W. Wright, 1302 North <br />College Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested that the parking <br />space in front of his residence be designated as a handicapped <br />parking space. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Mueller <br />and carried, the following four (4) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />1. NEW INSTALLATION: <br />Handicap Parking Space <br />LOCATION: <br />114 East Dubail <br />REMARKS: <br />Mr. Archie Thomas has met all the <br />requirements. <br />2. NEW INSTALLATION: <br />No Parking (6 A.M. - 6 P.M.) <br />LOCATION: <br />Lafayette, Navarre to Bartlett, <br />east side <br />REMARKS: <br />Temporary parking restrictions - <br />March 1, 1993 to March 1, 1994 - <br />Memorial Hospital building parking <br />garage. <br />
