0.1M0i <br />REGULAR MEETING DECEMBER 12, 1994 <br />AWARD BID - MISCELLANEOUS GOLF COURSE EQUIPMENT BLACKTHORN GOLF <br />COURSE <br />Mr. James Riggs, Department of Community and Economic Development, advised the Board that <br />on December 5, 1994, bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After <br />reviewing those bids, Mr. Riggs recommends that the Board award the bids as follows: <br />Item Q!y. Awarded To Amount <br />A Spin/Relief Reel Grinder 1 Kenney Machinery $ 7,495.00 <br />Foley Accu-600 <br />B Bedknife Grinder 1 Illinois Lawn Equipment $ 1,932.00 <br />Neary Model 200 Grinder <br />C High Production 126" 1 Kenney Machinery $27,995.00 <br />Rotary Mower <br />Toro Groundsmaster 455D/4WD <br />D High Production 60" 1 Illinois Lawn Equipment $21,024.00 <br />Fairway Aerator <br />Cushman GA 60 Aerator <br />E 60" Flail Mower Deck 1 Illinois Lawn Equipment $ 4,166.00 <br />Jacobsen Flair Mower <br />Model 66087 <br />F Core Harvestor 1 Illinois Lawn Equipment $ 3,519.00 <br />The specifications for Item G, Greens Reel w/groomer, stated that the reels must be adaptable for <br />use with a Toro Greensmaster 3100. The course currently owns the Toro Greensmaster 3100. The <br />Jacobsen Reels as bid by Illinois Lawn Equipment do not meet this requirement. Staff recommends <br />that the Board reject Illinois Lawn Equipment's bid for Item G as non -responsive. The following <br />award recommendation is to be the next lowest, responsive and responsible bidder. <br />G Greens Reel w/Groomer 3 <br />Toro 04406 w/ aluminum <br />Wiehle front rollers <br />Kenney Machinery $ 7,260.00 <br />Items A and B are to be delivered to Blackthorn Golf Course within thirty (30) days of receipt of <br />award notice. Items C through G are to be delivered to the course on or about March 1, 1995. This <br />award recommendation represents the following dollar value to the two successful bidders: <br />Illinois Lawn Equipment $30,641.00 <br />Kenney Machinery $42,750.00 <br />Therefore, Mrs. Manier made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be <br />�awarded as outlined above. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AMEND BID AWARD - FIRE TRUCK W <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that Chief Luther Taylor, South Bend Fire Department, requests approval of the <br />Board to increase the bid award for one (1) 1977 C-F Mack Fire Truck, to Renewed Performance, <br />Post Office Box 196, Tipton, Indiana, by $6,820,00, for a total bid award of $70,134.00. Chief <br />Taylor noted that Renewed Preformance was the only bidder. Further, the reason for the change was <br />the additional cost for the option of front suction on the fire truck. Additionally, the Emergency <br />Medical Services Capital Improvement Fund will be used for the funding in this project. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the bid award was <br />amended and approved. <br />
