62 <br />REGULAR MEETING AUGUST 29, 1994 <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) 36,000 G.V.W. RESCUE VEHICLE <br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor informed the Board that after reviewing <br />the bid submitted on August 22, 1994 for the above referred to <br />vehicle, the Fire Department recommends the award of the bid <br />submitted by Pierce Manufacturing, Inc., 2600 American Drive, <br />Appleton, Wisconsin, represented by Midwest Fire & Safety of <br />Indianapolis, Indiana. Chief Taylor noted that Midwest was the <br />only bidder for this equipment. However, the Department is <br />comfortable awarding this bid and they believe it is competitive. <br />Chief Taylor further advised that the base bid submitted by <br />Midwest was $245,638.00. In addition, they would like to include <br />five (5) items, listed as options, at a cost of $12,544.95 for a <br />total bid award of $258,182.95. <br />Mrs. Manier made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and <br />the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Leszczynski seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - REFURBISHING OF ONE (1) 1977 C-F MACK PUMPER <br />In a letter to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor advised that <br />after reviewing the bid submitted on August 22, 1994, for the <br />refurbishing of one (1) 1977 C-F Mack Pumper, the Department <br />recommends the award of the bid submitted by Renewed Performance, <br />Inc., P.O. Box 196, Tipton, Indiana. <br />Chief Taylor noted that even though Renewed Performance was the <br />only bidder for this refurbishing, they are comfortable with this <br />bid and feel that it is competitive. <br />Chief Taylor further noted that the base bid submitted by Renewed <br />Performance was $56,884.00. In addition, they are including in <br />this bid award, two (2) items, listed as options, in the amount of <br />$6,430.00 for a total award of $63,314.00. <br />Therefore, Mrs. Manier made a motion that the recommendation be <br />accepted and the bid be awarded. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - TWO (2) TWENTY YARD REFUSE PACKERS <br />Mr. Matthew L. Chlebowski, Director, Division of Equipment <br />Services, requested that the Board award the bid of Hill Truck <br />Sales, Inc., 1011 West Sample Street, South Bend, Indiana, for two <br />(2) twenty (20) yard refuse packers for use by the Division of <br />Environmental Services. Mr. Chlebowski noted that Hill Truck <br />Sales submitted the low bid of $102,382.00 each for a total award <br />of $204,764.00. It is noted that bids for these packers were <br />opened by the Board on June 27, 1994. Mr. Leszczynski made a <br />motion that Mr. Chlebowski's recommendation be accepted and the <br />bid be awarded.
