The Gus Macker Committee,
through the Office of Community Affairs, is asking for the
following street closures in order to stage this event:
- Niles Avenue, from E. Washington Street and East Colfax
Avenue
- Niles Avenue, from E. Colfax and East Madison Street
- Niles Avenue, from E. INC. FOR AN EASEMENT REOUIRED TO PLACE
AN AUTOMATIC TELLER MACHINE AT THEIR FACILITY AT 3301 NORTH
PORTAGE
Mr. Mike Dobson, B & R Oil Company, Inc., 227 East Cleveland
Road, Suite 5, Granger, Indiana, informed the Board that B &
J Oil Company, Inc, and family, are the property owners of
the Phillips 66 convenience store located at 3301 North
Portage Avenue. They are requesting an Easement or for the
City to deed back part of the Portage Avenue right-of-way to
allow the placement of an Automatic Teller Machine at their
facility. The ATM would encroach into the Portage Avenue
right-of-way approximately six (6) feet from their property.
Mr. Dobson further noted that the Portage Avenue right-of-way
at their property is greater than the right-of-way of the
abutting property to the south. The newly completed bridge
project and the widening of Portage Avenue south of the
bridge in front of their property indicates that right-of-way
taken on their property is not all needed to facilitate any
other improvements by the City to Portage Avenue.
In conclusion, Mr. Dobson reiterated their request that the
City provide an Easement or deed back the excess right-of-way
to their property. They have been maintaining and recently
landscaped this right-of-way area to continue a positive
appearance at their facility.
OF MADISON OYSTER BAR TO ENCROACH ONTO THE PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-
WAY
Mr. Shane A.
