1 452 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AUGUST 22, 1994 <br />Bend, P.O. Box 4414, South Bend, Indiana, has advised that on <br />August 27, 1994, the South Bend Kiwanis Club will kick-off their <br />newspaper sale. The South Bend Tribune will provide the Kiwanis <br />with copies of the South Bend Tribune which will be sold during <br />this street sale. Newspapers will be sold on twelve (12) corners <br />throughout the City as follows: <br />1. <br />Jefferson and Eddy Street <br />2. <br />Angela and Michigan <br />3. <br />South Bend Avenue and Eddy <br />4. <br />South Bend Avenue and Ironwood <br />5. <br />Mishawaka Avenue and Ironwood <br />6. <br />Ironwood and Corby <br />7. <br />Jefferson and Ironwood <br />8. <br />Cleveland and U.S. 31 <br />9. <br />Miami and Ireland <br />10. <br />Michigan and Ireland <br />11. <br />Lincolnway East and Ironwood <br />12. <br />Martins 23 and Ironwood <br />Ms. Niespodziany noted that approximately seventy-two (72) club <br />members will participate in this event which will take place from <br />11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that this request be approved, <br />subject to favorable recommendations being received from various <br />City departments and bureaus. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE REPLACEMENT OF MOTORCYCLES - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Police Chief Ronald G. Marciniak advised members of the Board that <br />the Police Department has received delivery of three (3) new <br />Harley Davidson Police Motorcycles from McDaniel's Harley- <br />Davidson, Inc ., 1910 Lincolnway East, South Bend, Indiana. <br />Through the generosity of McDaniel's Harley-Davidson, these new <br />Police Motorcycles will involve no cost to the City. <br />Two (2) of the cycles will replace the two (2) units now in use in <br />the downtown area and/or traffic patrol. These 1995 models will <br />be traded, at no cost, and will replace the 1993 units with the <br />following vehicle identification numbers: <br />1 HD1 DAL 19PY500 705 <br />1 HD1 DAL 11PY500 276 <br />The third unit is a donation for use in conjunction with The Kid's <br />Adventure Zone television program and other public relations <br />efforts. This 1995 model will replace the current 1994 unit with <br />the following vehicle identification number: <br />1 HD1 DAL 12PY509 930 <br />Mrs. Manier made a motion that this transfer be approved. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation: <br />TO CLOSE FREDRICKSON, FROM JOHNSON TO O'BRIEN, FOR BLOCK <br />PARTY FOR BIRTHDAY AND LABOR DAY - SEPTEMBER 3 & 4, 1994 <br />Ms. Janice West and Ms. Peggy Jennings, 737 North Johnson <br />Street, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an <br />Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public <br />
