,) - 281 <br />1 <br />n <br />1 <br />MEETING <br />MAY 23, 1994 <br />pu pose of constructing a single-family home on this property, <br />which will provide a home ownership opportunity for low-income <br />individuals in the community; and <br />WHEREAS, the use of said property for such purposes will be <br />beneficial to the community, and the City is willing to transfer <br />said property to Habitat for the construction of said single- <br />family home. <br />of <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works <br />the City of South Bend, Indiana, as follows: <br />1) The City shall transfer to Habitat one (1) parcel of <br />real property more particularly described as follows: <br />Key No. 18-4107-3893 <br />Lot 214 Block C Belleville 2nd Unit <br />Commonly known as 3310 Vermont Place. <br />2) Such transfer shall be accomplished by Quit -Claim Deed, <br />executed by the Mayor of the City of South Bend and <br />attested to by the South Bend City Clerk. <br />3) Such transfer shall be made by the City to Habitat in an <br />"as is" condition with no warranties, indemnities or <br />representations made relative to said real property. <br />Adopted this 23rd day of May, 1994. <br />SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/John E. Parmerlee, Clerk <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 19-1994 - RE: THE RETIREMENT OF "REX" A K-9 <br />PO ICE DOG <br />Po ice Chief Ronald G. Marciniak has requested that the Board <br />declare "Rex", a canine, assigned to Corporal Fred Eyster, Patrol <br />Division, as retired and no longer useful to the City. Chief <br />Ma ciniak stated that this declaration will authorize the <br />retirement of "Rex" and the presentation of the dog to Corporal <br />Eyster for use as a house pet only. Corporal Eyster agrees to <br />care for "Rex" at his own expense and understands that the dog can <br />never again be used as an official police dog. Rex has served <br />ei ht (8) years in his capacity as a police canine. Mr. Caldwell <br />ma e a motion that the appropriate Resolution which has been <br />prepared be adopted. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which <br />ca ried and the following Resolution No. 19-1994 was adopted: <br />ad,, <br />RESOLUTION NO.19-1994 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD <br />OF PUBLIC WORKS REGARDING THE RETIREMENT <br />OF "REX", A K-9 POLICE DOG <br />WHEREAS, the South Bend Board of Public Works has been <br />'ised by the City's Police Chief that "Rex", a K-9, assigned to <br />Patrol Division, is no longer needed by the South Bend Police <br />,artment; and <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works <br />th t "Rex" is unfit for the purpose for which he was acquired and <br />is no longer of use to the City of South Bend; and <br />
