Mrs. Manier <br />MAY 9, 1994 <br />past due ambulance accounts for the year <br />made a motion that this request be <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />REQUESTS REFERRED: <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and <br />carried, the following requests were referred to the appropriate <br />City departments and bureaus for review and recommendation: <br />OF HOLY CROSS PARISH TO CLOSE A PORTION OF VASSAR AVENUE, IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH PENTECOST CELEBRATION - MAY 22 1994 <br />Father Tom Esch, Associate Pastor, Holy Cross Parish, 1520 <br />Vassar Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, submitted to the Board an <br />Application For Use Of And Blocking Of Access To Public <br />Right -of -Way For A Party Or Similar Event, requesting that a <br />portion of Vassar Avenue, from the railroad west of Diamond <br />to Wilber, be closed from 12:00 noon to 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, <br />May 22, 1994, in conjunction with the Pentecost Celebration <br />that they will be having at the church. <br />- 0 HOLY CROSS PARISH TO CLOSE VASSAR FROM WILBER AND <br />L WNDALE IN CONJUNCTION WITH SPORTING EVENT - JUNE 5 1994 <br />M Linda Jones, Athletic Board Member, Holy Cross School, <br />1 20 Wilber Street, South Bend, Indiana, requested, on behalf <br />o the Holy Cross School's Athletic Association, to close the <br />1,500 block of Vassar Avenue, from Wilber to Lawndale, from <br />1 :00 noon to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 1994. Ms. Jones <br />noted that the school will be holding a day of sporting <br />events using Muessel Park and they would like to have the <br />street closed to ensure the safety of the children who will <br />b crossing Vassar from the parish grounds. <br />0 CRESSY AND EVERETT TO PLACE DUMPSTER AT ONE PLAZA PLACE. <br />210 SOUTH MICHIGAN STREET. FROM MAY 26. 1994 TO JULY 15. 1994 <br />M . Donald L. Ross, Vice -President, Real Estate Development, <br />C essy and Everett Commercial Company, Suite 200, 3930 Edison <br />Likes Parkway, Mishawaka, Indiana, advised that they have <br />b en appointed the Development Manager for the renovation of <br />O e Plaza Place, 210 South Michigan Street, South Bend, <br />I diana. Mr. Ross noted that there will need to be a <br />d pster on that site until approximately July 15, 1994. <br />Mr. Ross noted that a permit to place a dumpster on the <br />right-of-way has already been issued for the demolition phase <br />of the project which ends at the end of May. A new permit <br />will be required for the period May 26, 1994 to July 15, <br />1994. This project does not have a general contractor. <br />T ere are, however, seven (7) contractors who will be <br />h ndling matters such as carpentry, mechanical, fire <br />p otection, electrical, floor coverings, roofing and the <br />e evator. <br />F R DESIGNATED HANDICAPPED PARKING SPACE AT 506 BLAINE AVENUE <br />M . Mia Seward submitted a letter to the Board advising that <br />h r grandparents, Melvin and Ruby Dongey, 501 Blaine Avenue, <br />a e handicapped and are unable to park close to their home. <br />M . Seward asked that the parking space at the northeast <br />c rner of Blaine Avenue, in front of 506 Blaine Street, be <br />designated as a handicapped parking space. <br />- OF ST.
