JOSEPH COUNTY MEMORIAL SOCIETY TO CLOSE WASHINGTON <br />STREET IN CONJUNCTION WITH MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES - MAY 30, <br />1994 <br />Ms. Virginia Hanson, Secretary, St. Joseph County Memorial <br />Day Society, 19459 Orchard Street, South Bend, Indiana, <br />requested that the Board approve the closing of Washington <br />Street, from Main to Lafayette, for approximately one (1) <br />hour on Monday, May 30, 1994, beginning at 2:00 p.m. in <br />conjunction with Memorial Day activities to be conducted in <br />front of the Sailors and Soldiers Monument on the Courthouse <br />lawn. <br />APPROVE REQUESTS: <br />OF RIVERPARK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION_, INC. TO CONDUCT ANNUAL <br />PARADE - AUGUST 20, 1994 <br />OF ZIOLKOWSKI CONSTRUCTION, INC., TO CLOSE THE SIDEWALK IN <br />FRONT OF THE IVY TOWER, 635 S. LAFAYETTE BOULEVARD, IN <br />CONJUNCTION WITH RENOVATION PROJECT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the appropriate City departments and <br />bureaus have reviewed the above referred to requests, which were <br />submitted to the Board on March 7 and 14, 1994 and approval is <br />recommended. Therefore, Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the <br />request of the Riverpark Business Association be approved. Mr. <br />Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. Additionally, Mrs. <br />Manier made a motion that the request of Ziolkowski Construction <br />be approved. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and <br />carried, the following five (5) traffic control devices were <br />approved: <br />REMOVAL OF: 1 HOUR PARKING <br />REVISED TO: NO PARKING - BOTH SIDES <br />LOCATION: Service Court No. 5, Washington to <br />Jefferson. Target date, April 1, 1994. <br />REMARKS: Construction of the Hall of Fame <br />NEW INSTALLATION: HANDICAP PARKING SPACE <br />LOCATION: 457 South Harris Street <br />REMARKS: Mr. William Allen has met all the <br />necessary requirements. <br />REMOVAL OF: SPEED LIMIT - 30 MPH <br />REVISED TO: SPEED LIMIT - 35 MPH <br />LOCATION: Michigan Street, Sample to Ewing <br />REMARKS: The results of the speed study show the <br />85% the speed is 41 MPH. The average <br />speed is 37 MPH. The 10 MPH pace is 35 <br />MPH. <br />NEW INSTALLATION: HANDICAP PARKING SPACE <br />LOCATION: 326 NORTH WALNUT <br />REMARKS: Mr. E.
