157 <br />REGULAR MEETING MARCH 28, 1994 <br />REMARKS: The results of the speed study show the <br />8.5% the speed is 45 MPH. The average <br />speed is 40 MPH. The 10 MPH pace is 35 <br />MPH. <br />APPROVE SECONDHAND DEALERS LICENSE <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that the following secondhand dealers <br />license application has been received: <br />NAME: ACT II <br />BY: Susan R. Stangebye <br />ADDRESS: 2123 Miami Street <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF SELLING: Clothing <br />Mr. Leszczynski further advised that favorable recommendations <br />have been received from the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting, <br />Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire <br />Department concerning the above application. Upon a motion made <br />by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above <br />license application was approved and referred to the Deputy <br />Controller's office for issuance of a license. <br />APPROVE CONTRACTORS AND EXCAVATION BONDS <br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Division of Engineering, recommended <br />that the following bonds be approved: <br />CONTRACTORS BONDS <br />Ronald R. F. Foulks, Jr. Effective 3-28-94 <br />EXCAVATION BONDS <br />- Clifford Hamilton Effective 3-23-94 <br />d/b/a Apex Mechanical Contractor, Inc. <br />- Central Plumbing, Inc. Effective 3-28-94 <br />67101 Elm Road <br />Bremen, Indiana <br />Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that these bonds be approved as <br />recommended. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF ENVIRONMENTAL CLEAN-UP OF LOTS REPORT <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Department of Code Enforcement <br />has submitted two (2) lists containing thirty-six (36) City owned <br />and miscellaneous properties which were cleaned by the Department <br />from March 7, 1994 to March 10, 1994. Mrs. Manier made a motion <br />that the lists as submitted be accepted for filing. Mr. <br />Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />FILING OF HUMANE SOCIETY MONTHLY REPORT - FEBRUARY <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Board is in receipt of the <br />monthly report as submitted by the Humane Society of St. Joseph <br />County, Inc., for the month of February, 1994. The report <br />indicates the type and number of animals handled for the City of <br />South Bend. Mr. Leszczynski made a motion that the report be <br />accepted for filing as submitted. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion <br />which carried. <br />APPROVE CLAIMS <br />Mr. Kevin Horton, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount <br />of $1,278,285.93 and recommended approval.
