AWARD BID. REJECT BIDS AND APPROVE REOUEST TO READVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - GOLF CARTS Mr. James Riggs, Airport 2010 Project Manager, Department,of Community and Economic Development, advised that on March 7, 1994, the Board opened and read six (6) bids for golf carts and golf utility vehicles for Elbel and Blackthorn Golf Course. The bid specifications requested bids for seventy (70) electric golf carts, to be used at Blackthorn Golf Course, forty (40) gas golf carts to be used at Elbel and five (5) golf utility vehicles also to be used at Blackthorn. The cost differences between the gas and electric golf carts has prompted the Park Department to revise their initial request. The Park Department is now requesting to use electric cars at Elbel. Therefore, Mr. Riggs recommended that the Board award the lowest bid submitted by E-Z-Go/Textron of Lake Zurich, Illinois for forty (40) electric golf carts with 4 beverage cup holder, in the amount of $2,360.00 per cart for a total bid award of $94,400.00. Additionally, Mr. Riggs recommended that the Board reject all remaining bids and readvertise for the receipt of bids for seventy (70) electric powered golf carts, five (5) gas powered utility vehicles, one with beverage insert and one with a ball picker hitch and also to allow a trade-in allowance. Mr. Riggs noted that items to be rebid will have expanded specifications. Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation of Mr. Riggs be accepted, that the bid of E-Z-Go/Textron be awarded as outlined above, and the request to readvertise for the receipt of bids be approved. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE REQUESTS TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS: - PAINT AND PAINT SUPPLIES - JANITORIAL SUPPLIES - STREET DEPARTMENT MATERIALS - PUBLIC WORKS PARTNERSHIP PROGRAM Mr. George S. Zana, Purchasing Manager, Division of Equipment Services, requested that the Board advertise for the receipt of bids for paint and paint supplies identified as eighty-one (81) items in specifications prepared and also for janitorial supplies identified as seventy-seven (77) items.
