<br />Systems, Inc. and Environmental Pipeliners, Inc. be considered non -responsive to the specifications.
<br />The specifications for the project require lining by the CIPP (cured -in -place plastic pipe) method.
<br />The alternates volunteered are for fold and form pipe, which appears to be a sound and reasonable
<br />method of pipe lining, but has not been fully evaluated by this Division or the Bureau of Sewers.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be
<br />awarded as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - IRONWOOD DRIVE ROADWAY
<br />RECONSTRUCTION - PHASE I - PROJECT NO. 93-05
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on September 25, 1995, to Rieth
<br />Riley Construction Co., Inc., Post Office Box 1775, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$307,419.40 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for
<br />Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor
<br />and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - FIRE STATION NO. 3 - TOWER DEMO AND
<br />BEAM RESTORATION - PROJECT NO. 95-08
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on September 18, 1995, to Kaser
<br />Spraker Construction, Inc., 25487 West State Road 2, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$13,450.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for
<br />Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor
<br />and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - WILLIAM RICHARDSON DRIVE EXTENSION -
<br />PROJECT NO. 95-51
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on September 18, 1995, to Walsh
<br />& Kelly, Inc., 24358 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $145,818.75 for the
<br />above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Contract was approved
<br />and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment
<br />Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - SOUTHEAST REDEVELOPMENT AREA SITE
<br />CLEARANCE - PHASE II - ASBESTOS ABATEMENT - PROJECT NO. 95-81
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on September 25, 1995, to Advanced
<br />Environmental Systems, Inc., 15214 Tonokel Road, Leo, Indiana, in the amount of $12,316.00 for
<br />the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Contract was
<br />approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials
<br />Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - PARK DEPARTMENT PAVING PROGRAM -
<br />PROJECT NO. 95-58
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on September 18, 1995, to Rieth
<br />Riley Construction Co., Inc., Post Office Box 1775, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of
<br />$94,427.00 for the above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for
<br />Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the
<br />Contract was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor
<br />and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVAL OF UTILITY AGREEMENT - BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of an Agreement between the City of South Bend
<br />and the Board of Commissioners of St. Joseph County, for granting a permit for the sanitary sewers
<br />and appurtenances located within the project limits of the New Darden Road Bridge in St. Joseph
<br />County to be located within the highway right-of-way as indicated on the plans for the proposed
<br />project.
