Jacob, Clerk <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition <br />as completed by Mr. Steven A. Medich, 420 Cottage Grove Street, South Bend, Indiana, to vacate <br />the following alley: <br />the first east -west alley north of W. Oak Street from the east right-of-way line of N. Cottage <br />Grove Street to the west right-of-way line of the first north -south alley east of N. Cottage Grove <br />Street for a distance of approximately 111.5 feet and a width of approximately 13.86 feet. <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. <br />Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY <br />Mr. Leszczynski indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition <br />as completed by John and Nicole Flint, 2002 Carlisle Street, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the <br />following alley: <br />the first east -west alley north of W. Delaware Street from the east right-of-way line of S. Carlisle <br />Street to the west right-of-way line of the first north -south alley east of South Carlisle Street for <br />a width of 12 feet and a length of approximately 120 feet. Part situated in Highland Park First <br />Addition to the City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. <br />Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Leszczynski seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Juanita Dempsy, Eastside Mender's Organization, 1246 East Howard Street, South Bend, <br />Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on Saturday, August 5, 1995, from 1:00 p.m. <br />until 12:00 a.m., on Howard Street between 1224 East Howard and 1250 East Howard, and the 1000 <br />block of Duey. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and <br />carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Barb Dickerson, 1321 Wall Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to <br />block party, on Saturday, August 12, 1995, from 12:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m., on Wall Street, from <br />Twyckenham to Sunnyside. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. <br />Leszczynski and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Sue Guibert, 1332 East Monroe, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block <br />party, on Saturday, August 12, 1995, from 3:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m., in the 1300-1400 blocks of <br />
