REGULAR MEETING

<br />APPROVAL OF REQUESTS TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS:
<br />- ETHNIC FESTIVAL ELECTRICAL DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM - PROJECT NO. 94-87
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, P.E., Director, Division of Engineering,
<br />requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell
<br />stated that the one (1) bid was rejected in the April 3, 1995 meeting, as the bid exceeded the estimate
<br />for the work. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the
<br />request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />- TRUCKING BELT PRESSED WASTEWATER SLUDGE FOR LAND APPLICATION
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Jack Dillon, Director of Environmental Services, requested permission
<br />to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to service. Mr. Dillon stated that this
<br />service will be required at various dates throughout the 1995 calendar year to haul belt pressed
<br />wastewater sludge from the City's Organic Resources Facility. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was
<br />approved.
<br />- PAINT AND PAINTING SUPPLIES
<br />Mr. George S. Zana, Purchasing Manger, Division of Equipment Services, requested permission to
<br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to items. Therefore, upon a motion made by
<br />Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mrs. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids
<br />was approved.
<br />REQUESTS REFERRED:
<br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following requests
<br />were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for review and recommendation:
<br />- TO CLOSE WASHINGTON STREET FOR MEMORIAL DAY ACTIVITIES - ST. JOSEPH
<br />COUNTY MEMORIAL DAY SOCIETY
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Virginia Hanson, Secretary, St. Joseph County Memorial Day Society,
<br />requested permission to close Washington Street between Main and Lafayette for approximately one
<br />hour on Monday, May 29,1995, beginning at 2:00 p.m., in conjunction with Memorial Day activities
<br />to be conducted in front of the Sailors and Soldiers Monument on the Court House lawn.
<br />- TO ENCROACH ON PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY - CARNIVAL FOR THE ARTS
<br />In a letter to the Board, Ms. Diane Bradley -Kantor, Carnival for the Arts, Box 1543, South Bend,
<br />Indiana, requested permission to put a lighted portable sign at the corner of Bendix and Cleveland,
<br />which is the site of Fire Station #11, in conjunction with the Carnival for the Arts, scheduled for
<br />April 21 and 22, 1995.
<br />APPROVAL OF RELEASE OF OCCUPANCY BONDS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following
<br />occupancy Bonds were released:
<br />The Austin Company Released Effective April 3, 1995
<br />Memorial Health Systems Released Effective April 3, 1995
<br />APPROVE RELEASE CONTRACTOR BOND
<br />Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Contractors Bond be released as follows:
<br />Gibson -Lewis Inc. Released Effective April 3, 1995
<br />Mrs. Manier made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be released as
<br />outlined above. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
