<br />$7,800.00. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried,
<br />the revision to the Agreement was approved and executed.
<br />APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL - ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIALS SURVEY - ACM
<br />ENVIRONMENTAL, INC.
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, submitted to the Board for approval a
<br />proposal from ACM Environmental, Inc., 229 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana, and
<br />recommended approval. Mr. Littrell informed the Board that this proposal is to conduct an asbestos -
<br />containing materials survey and a Phase I environmental assessment for two (2) properties at 1901
<br />and 1911 South Ironwood Drive, which were purchased for the Ironwood Drive Widening Project.
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Proposal was
<br />approved and executed.
<br />TABLE RECOMMENDATION TO ESTABLISH THE 1100-1200 BLOCKS OF MCKINLEY AS
<br />ONE-WAY, EASTBOUND
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the above referred
<br />to recommendation was tabled.
<br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION FOR PURCHASE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTY - 51240
<br />REDWOOD ROAD
<br />It was noted that on December 12, 1994, the Board opened two (2) bids for the purchase of the
<br />following real property:
<br />Lot 43, as shown on the recorded Plat of Redwood Road Minor Subdivision, recorded
<br />September 9, 1994, in the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, as
<br />Instrument No. 434478. Commonly known as 51240 Redwood Road.
<br />Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the high bid received from Ms. Sandra L. Creager, 3324 Hedge
<br />Maple Court, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $61,025.00 be accepted. Mrs. Manier noted
<br />that this award is in the best interest of the City, and that this bid is subject to approval by the Mayor
<br />and the Common Council. There being no further questions, Mrs. Manier seconded the motion
<br />which carried.
<br />APPROVE RECOMMENDATION TO CONDUCT THE MARTIN LUTHER KING MARCH
<br />Mr. Leszczynski noted that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Police
<br />Department, the Legal Department, the Division of Engineering and the Park Department,
<br />concerning a request to conduct the Martin Luther King March on Monday, January 16, 1995,
<br />beginning at 1:30 p.m., from the County -City Building to the Century Center. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />AWARD BID - NEIGHBORHOOD PARTNERSHIP PUBLIC WORKS IMPROVEMENTS -
<br />SIDEWALK, CURB AND APPROACH REPAIRS - PROJECTS NO. 94-62 AND 94-63
<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on January 3, 1995,
<br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr.
<br />Littrell recommends that the Board award the low bid to L.L. Geans & Sons, 1923 N. Home Street,
<br />Mishawaka, Indiana, in the amount of $202,436.42. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that
<br />the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mrs. Manier seconded
<br />the motion which carried.
<br />REQUESTS
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following
<br />requests were referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation:
<br />- TO CONDUCT PROCESSION - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY RIGHT TO LIFE
<br />Ms. Mary MacDonell, President, St. Joseph County Right to Life, Inc., requested permission to
<br />conduct a peaceful protest procession on Monday, January 23, 1995, beginning at noon, and lasting
<br />one hour on the sidewalk outside the Federal Court Building, on Jefferson and Main Streets.
