no <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />Veteran's Day <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Day after Thanksgiving <br />Christmas Day <br />JANUARY 3. 1995 <br />November 10 <br />November 23 <br />November 24 <br />December 25 <br />For purposes of the holiday grant only, <br />the eight (8) days which may be selected are: <br />President's Day <br />February 20 <br />Easter Monday <br />April 17 <br />Flag Day <br />June 14 <br />Yom Kippur <br />October 4 <br />Columbus Day <br />October 9 <br />Hanukkah <br />December 18 <br />Christmas Eve <br />December 22 <br />New Year's Eve <br />December 29 <br />SECTION II. For all other Employees, the following holidays apply for pay <br />purposes only: <br />(a) Grand Holidays each year shall be: <br />New Year's Day <br />January 1 <br />Memorial Weekend <br />May 29 <br />Independence Day <br />July 4 <br />Labor Day <br />September 4 <br />Thanksgiving Day <br />Christmas Day <br />November 23 <br />December 25 <br />(b) For these Employees the <br />other holidays are: <br />Martin Luther King's Birthday January 15 <br />Washington's Birthday February 22 <br />Memorial Weekend May 26 <br />Labor Day Weekend September 2 <br />Veteran's Day November 11 <br />Christmas Weekend December 23 <br />SECTION III. That for an officer whose shift begins on one calendar day and ends <br />on another, it is only the officer whose shift ends on a designated holiday who can take the holiday <br />and/or receive any holiday pay. For example, the night shift which comes on at 10:30 p.m. on <br />Memorial Day in any given year does not have it as a holiday; but, members of the night shift whose <br />tour of duty ends at approximately 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. on Memorial Day shall have that day as a <br />holiday. <br />Each officer covered by Section I of this Resolution shall elect by December 30, 1994, which <br />holidays apply to him or her in 1995. <br />SECTION IV. That for those police officers in D.A.R.E. or whose assignments <br />require that they follow the South Bend Community School Corporation's vacation and holiday <br />schedules, the Board reserves the right to amend the vacation schedule for those officers only to <br />ensure that those officers have an equal opportunity for vacation and vacation pay. <br />ADOPTED this 3rd day of January, 1995. <br />
