no REGULAR MEETING Veteran's Day Thanksgiving Day Day after Thanksgiving Christmas Day JANUARY 3. 1995 November 10 November 23 November 24 December 25 For purposes of the holiday grant only, the eight (8) days which may be selected are: President's Day February 20 Easter Monday April 17 Flag Day June 14 Yom Kippur October 4 Columbus Day October 9 Hanukkah December 18 Christmas Eve December 22 New Year's Eve December 29 SECTION II. For all other Employees, the following holidays apply for pay purposes only: (a) Grand Holidays each year shall be: New Year's Day January 1 Memorial Weekend May 29 Independence Day July 4 Labor Day September 4 Thanksgiving Day Christmas Day November 23 December 25 (b) For these Employees the other holidays are: Martin Luther King's Birthday January 15 Washington's Birthday February 22 Memorial Weekend May 26 Labor Day Weekend September 2 Veteran's Day November 11 Christmas Weekend December 23 SECTION III. That for an officer whose shift begins on one calendar day and ends on another, it is only the officer whose shift ends on a designated holiday who can take the holiday and/or receive any holiday pay. For example, the night shift which comes on at 10:30 p.m. on Memorial Day in any given year does not have it as a holiday; but, members of the night shift whose tour of duty ends at approximately 6:30 or 7:00 a.m. on Memorial Day shall have that day as a holiday. Each officer covered by Section I of this Resolution shall elect by December 30, 1994, which holidays apply to him or her in 1995. SECTION IV. That for those police officers in D.A.R.E. or whose assignments require that they follow the South Bend Community School Corporation's vacation and holiday schedules, the Board reserves the right to amend the vacation schedule for those officers only to ensure that those officers have an equal opportunity for vacation and vacation pay. ADOPTED this 3rd day of January, 1995.
