53O <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />DECEMBER 30, 1996 <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE OR LESS 37 CUBIC YARD ALUMINUM DUMP <br />TRAILER <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to project. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />WHITEFORD TRAILER & EQUIPMENT CO <br />137 South Olive Street <br />South Bend, Indiana 46619 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Gerald Rife <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: <br />One (1) aluminum dump trailer $33,026.00 <br />FET $3,659.00 <br />TOTAL $36,685.00 <br />Allowance for 1989 Wrecked Dump $6,000.00 <br />$30,685.00 <br />POZZO MACK SALES AND SERVICE, INC. <br />3001 E. 15th Place <br />Gary, Indiana 46401 <br />Bid was signed by Ms. Patricia Wyant <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment Form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: $29,724.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the above bids were <br />referred to the Division of Equipment Services for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY -OWNED PROPERTIES - 2215 AND 2221 SMITH <br />STREET <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to properties. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. No bids were received. <br />AWARD BID - SAMPLE-EWING REDEVELOPMENT AREA STORM SEWER SYSTEM <br />PHASE I - PROJECT NO. 96-52 <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on December 16, 1996, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to Woodruff and Sons, Inc. Post Office Box <br />450, Michigan City, Indiana, in the amount of $785,751.05. Therefore, Mrs. Manier made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Leszczynski <br />seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BIDS - FIRE APPARATUS COMMUNICATIONS <br />Fire Chief Luther Taylor, advised the Board that on December 9, 1996, bids were received and <br />opened for the above referred to items. After reviewing those bids, Chief Taylor recommends that <br />the Board award the bids as follows: <br />
