REGULAR MEETING APRIL 8. 1996 <br />APPROVE PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - WATER WORKS RENOVATIONS - <br />PROJECT NO. 94-93 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Bob Allen, Public Construction Manager, has submitted the <br />Project Completion Affidavit on behalf of Gibson -Lewis, 1001 West I Ith Street, Mishawaka, <br />Indiana, for the above referred to project, indicating a final cost of $194,279.00. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the Project Completion Affidavit <br />was approved. <br />APPROVE PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - COLLEGE FOOTBALL HALL OF FAME - <br />MUSEUM SERVICES - PROJECT NO 93-09 <br />Mr. Leszczynski advised that Mr. Bob Allen, Project Construction Manager, has submitted the <br />Project Completion Affidavit on behalf of Museum Services, Inc., 1220 S.E. Veitch Street, <br />Gainesville, Florida, for the above referred to project, indicating a final cost of $169,109.70. Upon <br />a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski and carried, the Project Completion <br />Affidavit was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT MULTIPLE SCLEROSIS SUPER <br />CITIES WALK <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a <br />request as submitted by Ms. Ann Pinnick, National Multiple Sclerosis Society, 615 North Alabama, <br />Indianapolis, Indiana to conduct the above referred to walk, on Sunday, April 14, 1996, on the <br />designated route as submitted. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by <br />Mrs. Manier and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS - WORLD'S LARGEST <br />GARAGE SALE <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a <br />request as submitted by Ms. Rebecca Jasinski, Community Affairs to close St. Joseph, Wayne, and <br />Michigan Streets, in conjunction with the "World's Largest Garage Sale", to be held on Saturday, <br />June 1, 1996, beginning at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 1996, in the Wayne and St. Joseph Street <br />Municipal Parking Garage. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. <br />Manier and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT RIVER PARK DAY PARADE <br />Mr. Leszczynski stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a <br />request as submitted by Ms. Angie Jacob, River Park Business Association, to conduct the above <br />referred to parade, on Saturday, June 22, 1996, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., on the designated <br />route as submitted. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Leszczynski <br />and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />REQUEST REFERRED <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Leszczynski, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the following <br />request was referred to the appropriate Bureaus and Departments for recommendation: <br />- TO CONDUCT "TOOTSIE ROLL DRIVE" - KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS <br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. Martin Moorman, Knights of Columbus, 60155 Ruby Street, South <br />Bend, Indiana, requested permission to conduct their annual "Tootsie Roll Drive", on Friday, May <br />3, 1996 and Saturday, May 4 and May 11, 1996, at the designated locations as submitted. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED <br />VEHICLES <br />Mrs. Kathy Dempsey, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise <br />for the sale of approximately eighteen (18) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto <br />Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana.
