E <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />MARCH 11. 1996 <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 19-1996 - DISPOSAL OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY <br />Upon a motion made by Mrs. Manier, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following <br />Resolution was adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />RESOLUTION NO. 19 - 1996 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />ON DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following property <br />is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />ONE (1) 1982 FORD 3 %2 TON - C REW & EQUIPMENT BODY WITH HOIST <br />ONE (1) 1991 CHEVROLET 5-10 2 DOOR BLAZER <br />ONE (1) 1989 CHEVROLET 3/4 TON - WITH VALVE MACHINE & EQUIPMENT BODY <br />ONE (1) CHEVROLET 3/4 TON - EQUIPMENT BODY <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-6(b) permits and establishes procedure for disposal of <br />personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend that the items listed above are no longer needed by the City; are unfit for the purpose for which <br />they were intended and have an estimated value of more than one thousand dollars ($1,000.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the sale of said equipment shall be advertised in accordance <br />with I.C. 5-3-1, that sealed bids be accepted according to said advertisement, and that said property <br />be sold to the highest responsible bidder. <br />ADOPTED this 1 lth day of March, 1996. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />s/James R. Jacob, Clerk <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 1996 STREET <br />MATERIALS <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to materials. Mr. Littrell stated <br />that this bid offering will provide prices of materials for use by the Bureau of Streets, Bureau of <br />Sewers and the Water Works. Funds for the purchases are appropriated in the operating budgets of <br />the above departments and in the appropriations from the Local Road and Street Fund. Therefore, <br />upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the request to advertise <br />for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) <br />COMPACT PICK-UP TRUCK AND ONE (1) MINI CARGO VAN <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Division of Equipment <br />Services, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicles. <br />Mr. Chlebowski stated that funding is being provided for these vehicles through the Park Capital <br />
