REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 26, 1996 <br />WHEREAS, I.C.. 36-1-11-6 permits and established procedure for disposal of personal <br />property which is no longer needed by the City and which is unfit for the purpose for which it was <br />intended; and <br />WHEREAS, Chief Luther Taylor has advised that the fire helmet previously worn by these <br />Firefighters is of no further use to the Department and of no practical value; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Public Works of the City of <br />South Bend that the fire helmet worn by these Firefighters is no longer needed by the City and unfit <br />for the purpose for which it was intended and has an estimated fair market value of less than One <br />Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said property be disposed of in accordance with <br />Ordinance 8570-95 and removed from the City inventory. <br />Adopted this 26th day of February, 1996. <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />s/James R. Jacob, Clerk <br />APPROVAL OF VOTING PLACES FOR MAY AND NOVEMBER ELECTIONS, 1996 <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board of Commissioners of the County of St. Joseph, Indiana, has <br />submitted a request for fourteen (14) City facilities to be used as voting places in the May and <br />November, 1996 elections, as follows: <br />Fire Station 410 <br />308 West Ireland Road <br />Fire Station #5 <br />2221 Prairie Avenue <br />Fire Station #6 <br />4302 West Western Avenue <br />Rum Village Partnership Center <br />609 West Indiana Avenue <br />Fire Station #3 <br />1805 East McKinley <br />LaSalle Fillmore Center <br />323 South Bendix <br />Fire Station #2 <br />110 East Marion Street <br />Northeast Neighborhood Service Center <br />803 North Notre Dame Avenue <br />Pinhook Park Pavilion <br />2801 Riverside Drive <br />Leeper Park Tennis Center <br />900 North Lafayette Boulevard <br />Potawatomi Park Greenhouse <br />2105 Mishawaka Avenue <br />LaSalle Park Recreation Center <br />3419 West Washington Street <br />Fire Station #7 <br />1616 Portage Avenue <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mrs. Manier and carried, the above referred to <br />voting places for the May and November 1996 elections were approved. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Mr. Thomas M. Walz, 509 West Washington Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to vacate <br />the following alley: <br />
