<br />REGULAR MEETING

<br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Fire Department, Police Department, Building Department, and the City Attorney's
<br />office, in reference to a request as submitted by Burkhart Advertising, 1247 Mishawaka Avenue,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, to install an awning at 530 North Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a
<br />motion .made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Fire Department, Police Department, -Building Department, and the City Attorney's
<br />office, in reference to a request as submitted by City Awning of South Bend, South Bend, Indiana,
<br />to install an awning at 110 North Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT A CIRCUS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to
<br />a request as submitted by Ms. Donna McMahon, Royal Palace Circus, Inc., 2831 Ringling Boulevard,
<br />Sarasota, Florida to conduct the above referred to circus, on July 16, 1998, from 5:30 p.m. until 7:45
<br />a.m., at the Armory at 1901 South Kemble Avenue, South Bend, Indiana. Upon a motion made by
<br />Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT RILEY HIGH SCHOOL
<br />HOMECOMING PARADE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Mr. Anthony Byrd, Assistant Principal, Riley High School, 405 East Ewing,
<br />South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to parade, on September 18, 1998, on the
<br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Powell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - SECOND HAND DEALER
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the following secondhand dealers license application has been received:

<br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Bureau
<br />of Traffic and Lighting, Department of Code Enforcement, Police Department and Fire Department
<br />concerning the above application. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and
<br />carried, the above license application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office
<br />for issuance of a license.
<br />TABLE SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT APPLICATION
<br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Board is in receipt of the following Sidewalk Sale Permit application:

<br />The Building Department stated that with the addition of sit-down eating, it is necessary to provide
<br />public restrooms, and this site does not have public restroom facilities. Mr. Caldwell made a motion
<br />that this application be tabled, subject to review. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried.
