C <br />D <br />REGULAR MEETING DULY 13, 1998 <br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - OPEN AIR STAND <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the following license application has been received: <br />NAME: Gretchen Hof <br />ADDRESS: 512 Cleveland Street, Clearwater Florida <br />STAND TO LOCATED AT: I I I East Ireland <br />DATES: <br />FOR THE PURPOSE OF: <br />July 1998 <br />Sale of Sunglasses <br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police <br />Department, Department of Code Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above <br />application. Additionally provided with the application was a letter of permission from the property <br />owner. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above license <br />application was approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Barbara Cabana, 2353 Pebble Creek Court, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above <br />referred to block party, on July 19, 1998, on Pebble Creek to Foxfire Drive. Upon a motion made <br />by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - NEIGHBORHOOD PICNIC <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Mr. James Ruth, Calvary Temple, 3717 South Michigan, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the <br />above referred to neighborhood picnic, on July 18, 1998, on Lebanon from Indiana to Broadway. <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was <br />approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Misti Rooks, 1145 Academy Place, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to <br />block party, on July 18, 1998, on Academy Place from Riverside to Inglewood. Upon a motion made <br />by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - ICE CREAM SOCIAL <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Debbie Hudson, 1105 White Oak, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to ice <br />cream social, on July 22, 1998, on Dorwood from Oakridge to the dead end. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT A.B.A.T.E. MOTORCYCLE RIDE - <br />MUSCULAR DYSTROPHY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department, Park Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a <br />request as submitted by Mr. Al Putnam, A.B.A.T.E., Post Office Box 123, Rochester, Indiana to <br />conduct the above referred to motorcycle ride in South Bend, on September 6, 1998, on the <br />designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and <br />carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />UNFAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO CLOSE A PORTION OF WEST END <br />OF BOYNTON AVENUE <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that Mr. Dean Hufair, representing the residents of Boynton Avenue, South <br />Bend, Indiana, has submitted to the Board a Petition to close the west end of Boynton Avenue. Mr. <br />Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of unfavorable recommendations concerning this Petition <br />
