0285 REGULAR MEETING 7ULY 6, 1998 OPENING AND AWARD OF QUOTATION - SOUTHEAST NEIGHBORHOOD MUNICIPAL SERVICES - PROJECT NO. 98-41-2 Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for the above referred to project. The following Quotations were opened and read: TOROK EXCAVATING & DEMOLITION 54185 North Burdette Street South Bend, Indiana 46637 Quotation was submitted by Mr. William Torok QUOTATION: $70,500.00 BRADBERRY BROTHERS, INC. 20061 West Dice Street South Bend, Indiana 46616 Quotation was submitted by Mr. W.J. Bradberry QUOTATION: $56,178.00 HRP CONSTRUCTION 5777 Cleveland Road South Bend, Indiana 46624 Quotation was submitted by Mr. Paul Fallon QUOTATION: $63,590.00 D&L EXCAVATING, INC. 12877 Industrial Drive Granger, Indiana 46530 Quotation was submitted by Mr. David Horein, President QUOTATION: $40,400.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above Quotations were referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, reviewed the bids and recommended that the Board award the contract to D&L Excavation the amount of $40,400.00. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - ONE (1) 19' CAR CARRIER Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Division of Engineering, advised the Board that on June 15, 1998, bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to Whiteford Sterling Ford Trucks, 4707 Western, South Bend, Indiana the amount of $46,254.00, which includes options. Therefore, Mr. Powell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - WILLIAM RICHARDSON DRIVE EXTENSION - PROJECT NO. 98-52 Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director, Divisio 1 of Engineering, advised the Board that on June 29, 1998, bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends that the Board award the contract to Walsh and Kelly, 24358 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana the amount of $76,742.50. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried.
