REGULAR MEETING <br />development of the area for new housing. <br />JUNE 22, 1998 <br />APPROVAL OF EASEMENT <br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, an Easement for a part <br />of Lot 3 as shown on the plat of Blackthorn Corporate Office park Minor #6, as submitted, was <br />approved. This is a twelve (12) acre area to be utilized for new homes. <br />APPROVAL OF DEED OF DEDICATION <br />,;,,Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, a Deed of Dedication for <br />a, part of Lot 4 of Blackthorn Corporate Office Park Major Subdivision #2, as submitted, was <br />approved. This is a a twelve (12) acre area to be utilized for new homes. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Mr. David Weiss, 828 East Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the <br />following alley: <br />The first east west ally north of East Wayne Street from the west right of way of South Notre <br />Dame Avenue to the east right of way of the first north south alley west of South Notre Dame <br />Avenue for a distance of approximately 165 feet and a width of 14 feet. Part located in <br />Cottrell's Addition, City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Ms. <br />Roemer made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which carried: <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE A STREET <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Ms. Ann Kolata, Community & Economic Development to vacate the following street: <br />Mayflower Court from the west terminus, running east for a distance of approximately 550 <br />feet. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. <br />Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Debra Swenfon, 1004 California, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block <br />party, on July 4, 1998, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., on California from Sherman to Harrison. <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation <br />was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Sharon Elkins, 1705 Dale, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, <br />on July 4, 1998, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 p.m., on Dale from Dubail to Dayton. Upon a motion <br />made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />
