1 REGULAR MEETING JUNE 22, 1998 by Ms. Monica Tetzlaff, 1232 Longfellow, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block party, on June 28, 1998, from 3:00 p.m.. until 11:00 p.m., on Longfellow to Mishawaka Avenue. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - APPLICATION FOR SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the Fire Department: APPLICANT: Coach's Sports Bar BUSINESS ADDRESS: 2046 South Bend Avenue DATES OF SALE: June 26, 27, July 10, 11, 31, August 1 and 28, 1998 GOODS TO BE SOLD: Beer and Food Mr. Caldwell made a motion that this application be approved, subject to the proper Alcoholic Beverage Commission permits for each of the designated days. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Building Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Debra Wray, Miami Village Consignment Shope, 2123 Miami, South Bend, Indiana to encroach onto public right of way for a sidewalk sale on June 25, 26 and 27, 1998. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the following two (2) traffic control devices were approved: Removal of Handicap Sign 810 Roosevelt Signs no longer needed Removal of Handicap Sign 1951 North Johnson Signs no longer needed FILING OF CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the following Certificate of Insurance was accepted for filing: South Bend Area Crime Stoppers 701 west Sample Street South Bend, Indiana 46601 APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND Mr. Larry D. Spradlin, Sr., Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following Excavation Bond be approved as follows: EXCAVATION BOND Mark Katzer D/B/a/ Pioneer Masonry Approved Effective June 22,1998 Ms. Roemer made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved as outlined above. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE CLAIMS Ms. M. Catherine Roemer, City Controller, submitted claims in the amount of $2,056,977.10 dated June 22, 1998, and recommended approval. Ms. Roemer made a motion that the claims be approved and the reports as submitted be filed. Mr. Caldwell seconded the motion which carried.
