<br />Drive and Cleveland Road in the Blackthorn Development Area. Sufficient funds have been
<br />appropriated from the Blackthorn TIF. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded
<br />by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Michael Merrill, 1723 South Leer Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred
<br />to block party, on June 27, 1998, from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Leer from Randolph to Dubail.
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CHANGE TRAFFIC PATTERNS - 4H FAIR
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Mr. Frank Ronchetti, 4-H Fair, Inc., 5117 South Ironwood, South Bend, Indiana to change traffic
<br />patterns on Ironwood Road at Jackson Road, on August 2 through August 8, 1998, in conjunction
<br />with the 4-H Fair. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT WALK FOR HOSPICE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Ms. Kate Lee, 111 Sunnybrook Court, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the
<br />above referred to walk, on October 11, 1998, from 12:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on the designated
<br />route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT SALMON RUN
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Ms. Kelly Cassidy, Madison Foundation, 403 East Madison, South Bend,
<br />Indiana to conduct the above referred to Salmon Run, on October 11,1998, on the designated route
<br />as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT CROP WALK
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Mr. James Fisko, United Religious Community, 2015 Western Avenue, South
<br />Bend; Indiana to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 27, 1998, on the designated route
<br />as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATIONS - OPEN AIR STAND
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the following license applications have been received:

<br />1632 Lincolnway West
<br />Helmi Musa
<br />sale of Area Rugs
<br />Kenmore and Western
<br />Mr. Caldwell further advised that favorable recommendations have been received from the Police
<br />Department, Department of Code Enforcement, and the Bureau of Traffic and Lighting for the above
<br />applications. Additionally provided with each application was a letter of permission from the property
<br />owner. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above
<br />license applications were approved and referred to the Deputy Controller's Office for issuance.
