<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS FIRE
<br />DEPARTMENT STANDBY GENERATOR - PROJECT NO. 98-32
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director of Engineering, requested permission
<br />to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Mr. Littrell stated that this
<br />project will provide standby electrical power systems for nine of the fire stations. Sufficient funds
<br />for this work have been appropriated from the EMS Capital Improvement Fund. Therefore, upon
<br />a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the request to advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE
<br />OR LESS HEAVY DUTY STEEL CAR CARRIER
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Mr. Chlebowski
<br />stated that funding will be provided by the Department of Code Enforcement. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the request to advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - THREE (3) MORE
<br />OR LESS, 1998 SINGLE AXLE DUMP TRUCK W/14' BED
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested
<br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Mr. Chlebowski
<br />stated that funding will be provided by the Street Department Capital Fund. Therefore, upon a
<br />motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the
<br />receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - MUNICIPAL
<br />SERVICES FACILITY RE -ROOFING - PROJECT NO. 98-14
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Director of Engineering, requested permission
<br />to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that project
<br />will provide a new roof membrane on the Municipal Services Facility. Funding has been appropriated
<br />from the General Fund, Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and
<br />carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SOUTHEAST
<br />PARTNERSHIP CENTER SERVICE AREA - PROJECT NO. 98-21
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Engineering, requested permission to advertise for
<br />the sale of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project will replace
<br />curbs, sidewalks, and approaches in the Southeast partnership Center Service area. Therefore, upon
<br />a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for
<br />the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - MORRIS
<br />PERFORMING ARTS CENTER - PRE -CAST PANELS - BID PACKAGE 98-25-4
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl P. Littrell, Engineering, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will
<br />include the erection of precast concrete panels for the Morris Performing Arets Center. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to to
<br />advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - POLICE ESCORT - SPECIAL OLYMPIANS
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Code Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Sharon Evans, Special Olympics, Post Office Box 643, Mishawaka, Indiana, for
<br />a police escort to honor the special Olympians who will be departing for the Summer State Games
<br />in Terre Haute on Thursday, June 4, 1998, at 6:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon
<br />a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
