<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Darlene Herron, 2001 Prast, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party, on Saturday, June 6, 1998, from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., on Prast from Johnson to O'Brien.
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the recommendation was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Tamara McNally, 1404 Sunnymede Avenue, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above
<br />referred to block party, on Sunday, June 7, 1998, from 3:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m., on Sunnymede
<br />from Sunnyside to Twyckenham. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and
<br />carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Elizabeth Eldon, 832 North Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />block party on Friday, May 29, 1998, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., on park Lane from Lafayette
<br />to Main Street. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE CONSENT TO ANNEXATION AND WAIVER OF RIGHTS TO REMONSTRATE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of a Consent to Annexation and Waiver of Right to
<br />Remonstrate as submitted by Kerry and Jessica Temple, 18462 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana.
<br />The Consent indicates that in consideration for permission to tap into the public sanitary sewer system
<br />of the City, to provide sanitary sewer service to 18462 Cleveland Road, South Bend, Indiana, South
<br />Bend, Indiana, (Key # 02-1020-0432.04), the Temple's waive and release any and all right to
<br />remonstrate against or oppose any pending or future annexation of the property by the City of South
<br />Bend. Therefore, Mr. Caldwell made a motion that the Consent be approved. Mr. Powell seconded
<br />the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF GRANT OF TEMPORARY EASEMENT - WATER BOOSTER STATION
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, a Grant of Temporary
<br />Easement for a water booster station was approved, at the location described in said document
<br />(Cleveland Road).
<br />APPROVE TRASH AND SEWER ACCOUNT WRITE-OFFS
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Sandy Saunders, Water Works, requested permission to write
<br />off various accounts for trash and sewer service, in the amount of $13,367.79. Upon a motion made
<br />by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the request was approved.
<br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following traffic
<br />control devices were approved:

<br />Signals
<br />Mishawaka Avenue, south
<br />side @ Greenlawn
<br />New Traffic Signals
<br />New Installation - No Parking
<br />Greenlawn west side, north of
<br />New traffic signals being
<br />signs
<br />Mishawaka Avenue
<br />installed with loops
<br />Removal of 1-hour parking;
<br />20th Street, east side of
<br />New Traffic signs being
<br />revised to No parking
<br />Mishawaka Avenue south to
<br />installed at Mishawaka and
<br />alley
<br />I 20th.
<br />APPROVE AND/OR RELEASE CONTRACTOR AND EXCAVATION BONDS
