( 9`' A_ REGULAR MEETING MAY 26,108 Upon a motion .made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the above bids were referred to the Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. OPENING OF QUOTATIONS - MAYFLOWER ROAD - PHASE IIA - PROJECT NO. 98-13 Mr. Caldwell advised that this was the date set for the receiving and opening of sealed Quotations for the above referred to project. The following Quotations were opened and read: LAFREE EARTH INC. Post Office Box 1752 Mishawaka, Indiana 46546 Quotation was submitted by Mr. Greg LaFree, President QUOTATION: $ 68,342.00 Alternate No. 1 $458,495.00 YOUNGS EXCAVATING, INC. 50563 Dusty Trail Court Granger, Indiana 46530 Quotation was submitted by Youngs Excavating QUOTATION: $ 70,323.35 HERRMAN & GOETZ, INC. D/B/A/ UNDERGROUND SERVICES 225 South Lafayette South Bend, Indiana 46601 Quotation was submitted by Underground Services QUOTATION: $ 114,983.82 Quotations from Small, Inc., and HRP Construction were rejected, as they were not received before the 9:30 a.m. meeting deadline. Small, Inc., and IMP Construction stated that an Addendum from Cole Associates stipulated the deadline was 10:00 a.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the above Quotations were referred to Division of Engineering for review and recommendation. AWARD BID - ONE (1) 1,200 MINI TANK Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Division of Equipment Services, advised the Board that on May 18, 1998, bids were received and opened for the above referred to tank. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to Stepp Manufacturing Company, Inc. 12325 River Road, North Branch, Minnesota in the amount of $23,830.00. Therefore, Ms. Roemer made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Powell seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE CHANGE ORDER NO 1 (FINAL) AND PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - WESTSIDE PARTNERSHIP CENTER SIDEWALK. CURB AND APPROACH REPAIRS - PROJECT NO. 97-38 Mr. Caldwell advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Construction Manager has submitted Change Order No. 1 (Final) on behalf of Batteast Construction Company, 430 East LaSalle, South Bend, Indiana, indicating that the contract amount be decreased by $2.53 for a new contract sum including this Change Order in the amount of $45,027.53. Additionally submitted was the Project Completion Affidavit indicating this new final cost. Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, Change Order No. 1 (Final) and the Project Completion Affidavit were approved subject to the filing of the appropriate three-year Maintenance Bond. it 1
