""- 9f , <br />REGULAR MEETING MAY 11, 1998 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - LAB HVAC AND <br />LIGHTING SYSTEM UPGRADE - PROJECT NO. 98-49 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Jason Durr, Environmental Services, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Durr stated that funding for <br />this project will come from Wastewater Treatment Capital Funds. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids <br />was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - MORRIS <br />PERFORMING ARTS CENTER EXPANSION AND RENOVATION - EXCAVATION AND <br />SHEETING/CONCRETE/STAGE HOUSE DEMOLITION - PROJECT NO. 98-25-3 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, Division of Engineering, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Therefore, upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids <br />was approved. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE A STREET <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Mr. Phil Newbold, Memorial Hospital, 615 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, to <br />vacate the following alley: <br />West Navarre Street from the west right of way of North Michigan Street to the east right <br />of way of North Main Street for a distance of approximately 344 feet and a width of 82.5 feet. <br />Part located in South Bend (Original Town), City of South Bend, St. Joseph County. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. <br />Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY <br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as <br />completed by Mr. Philip Newbold, Memorial Hospital, 615 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, <br />to vacate the following alley: <br />The first north south alley east of Main Street from the south right of way of West Navarre <br />Street to the north right of way of the first east west alley south of West Navarre Street for <br />a distance of approximately 198 feet and a width of 14 feet. Part located in South Bend <br />(Original Town), St. Joseph County, Indiana. <br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this <br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, <br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr. <br />Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council <br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREETS -NEIGHBORHOOD GARAGE <br />SALE <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Jamie McKinstry, 1141 Cleveland, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to <br />neighborhood garage sale, on Saturday, May 23, 1998, on Cleveland from Humbolt to Vassar. Upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was <br />approved. <br />
