REGULAR MEETING MAY 11, 1998 <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS OF <br />THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />1. That the transfer of the Real Property situated in St. Joseph County, Indiana, and generally <br />described as follows: <br />See Exhibit A attached <br />by Commission to the City of South Bend, Indiana, shall be, and hereby is, accepted, subject to the <br />adoption of a resolution by the South Bend Redevelopment Commission substantially identical in its <br />terms and conditions to this resolution. <br />2. That upon receipt of fully executed quitclaim deed(s) to the Real Property from <br />Commission, the Clerk of the Board of Public Works of the City of South Bend, Indiana is hereby <br />authorized and directed to cause the recording of said quitclaim deed(s) in the Office of the St. Joseph <br />County Recorder. <br />3. Jacob, Clerk <br />APPROVAL OF APPRAISAL OF CONRAIL RIGHT OF WAY <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Larry Magliozzi, Planning Department, requested approval of <br />an appraisal of the right of way, for a two mile segment of railroad that is being proposed by Conrail <br />for abandonment, as shown in the map as submitted. The fee for the appraisal will not be less than <br />$5,500 and will not exceed $7,500. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell <br />and carried, the request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RESIDENTIAL TAX ABATEMENT APPLICATION <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Marco Mariani, Planning, requested approval of a residential <br />tax abatement application for construction and sale of approximately twenty (20) new single family <br />homes in the Southeast Neighborhood. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. <br />Caldwell and carried, the tax abatement application was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - NEAR WESTSIDE <br />PARTNERSHIP SERVICE AREA - PROJECT NO. 98-20 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Division of Engineering, requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project <br />will replace curbs, sidewalks and approaches in the Near Westside Partnership Service Area., Funding <br />will come from CDGB funds. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Ms. <br />Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REOUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - WESTSIDE <br />PARTNERSHIP SERVICE AREA - PROJECT NO. 98-23 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Division of Engineering,. requested permission to <br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project <br />will replace curbs, sidewalks and approaches in the Westside Partnership Service Area. Funding will <br />come from CDGB funds.
