<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWENTY (20)
<br />MORE OR LESS, AUTOMATED EXTERNAL DEFIBRILLATORS WITH BIPHASIC
<br />WAVEFORM - POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Captain Gary Horvath, Police Department, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Captain Horvath stated that funding for
<br />this equipment is provided by a Department of Justice Block Grant already obtained by the South
<br />Bend Police Department. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer , seconded by Mr.
<br />Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - NORTHEAST
<br />PARTNERSHIP CENTER - SORIN STREET -CURB SIDEWALK APPROACH AND RAMP
<br />REPAIRS - PROJECT NO. 99-33
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Engineering, requested permission to advertise for
<br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project will removal
<br />and replace curbs, sidewalks, approaches, curb ramps and treelawns in the 1000 block of Sorin
<br />Street. Funding will be financed with Section 108. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer,
<br />seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - IRONWOOD
<br />DRIVE - SANITARY AND STORM LIFT STATIONS - PROJECT NO 99-60
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will
<br />construct a new wetwell/drywell lift station, along with renovations to an existing lift station. The
<br />work will also include construction of an access drive, a radio tower and a telemetry monitoring and
<br />control system and landscaping. Funding has been appropriated from the Sewage Works. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - FELLOWS
<br />STREET WIDENING - BROADWAY STREET TO SAMPLE STREET - PROJECT NO 97-104
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will
<br />construct a new roadway in the above area, including all curbing and gutters, sidewalks, lighting,
<br />irrigation system and any necessary signage and pavement marking. Funding is provided by the
<br />Local Road and Street, Account, Community and Economic Development TIF, and Sewage Works.
<br />Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer , seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request
<br />to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF TEMPORARY OCCUPANCY BOND
<br />Mr. Larry Spradlin, Engineering, submitted an Application for a Permit for Temporary Occupancy
<br />on Public Property, on behalf of Midland Engineering, 52369 U.S. 933, South Bend, Indiana, for an
<br />occupancy bond to place a crane in the west bound lane of East Washington, in front of First Source
<br />Bank for re -construction of their roof. The bond is in the amount of $10,000.00. Upon a motion
<br />made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the Occupancy Bond was approved.
<br />APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICES
<br />Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Powell and carried, the following traffic
<br />control devices were approved:
