REGULAR MEETING " APRIL 26, 1999 Contracts were approved. APPROVAL OF BUILDING BLOCKS GRANT PROGRAM AGREEMENTS The following Building Block Grant Program Agreements were presented to the Board for approval: Big Brothers Big Covers costs associated with $1000 - Funding - Building Sisters of St. Joseph landscaping the front yard Blocks Grant Program County Judy Butler - 130 Covers costs associated with $100 -Funding -Building Huey landscaping the front yard and Blocks Grant Program partial right side of house Sabrina Butler - 732 Covers costs associated with $100 - Funding - Building South Grant Street landscaping front yard and right Blocks Grant Program and left side of yard Gene & Maureen Covers cost associated with $100 - Funding - Building Defauw - 628 Park. landscaping front yard Blocks Grant Program Avenue Near Northwest Covers costs associated with $1000 - Funding - Building Neighborhood planting flowers on entryways to Blocks Grant Program the Near Westside Neighborhood Denisa Lynk - 813 Covers costs associated with $100 - Funding - Building South Meade Street landscaping front yard Blocks Grant Program Paul Retek - 1001 Covers costs associated with $100 - Funding - Building Mayflower landscaping front yard Blocks Grant Program Sharone Smith - 529 Covers costs associated with $100 - Funding - Building East Altgeld landscaping front yard Blocks Grant Program Timothy & Jean Covers costs associated with $100•- Funding -Building Stout - 1809 East landscaping the driveway island Blocks Grant Program Altgeld 1800 Block residents Covers costs associated with $550 - Funding - Building of Magnolia Street landscaping and all materials Blocks Grant Program needed John Thornton - 1631 Covers cost associated with $100 - Funding -Building Scott Street landscaping front yard Blocks Grant Program Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Building Block Grant Agreements were approved. APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL - PROFESSIONAL SERVICES - EVALUATION OPTIONS FOR THE END USE OF ROAD MILL MATERIAL FROM THE NEW COUNTY JAIL SITE - TRIAD ENGINEERING Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of a Proposal between the City of South Bend and Triad Engineering, 300 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, for the above referred to project. Mr. v Caldwell noted that the Proposal is in not exceed the amount of $4,800.00 for professional services and not to exceed $5,000.00 for analytical services. Funding is provided by the Studebaker Corrdior Tax Increment Fund. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Proposal was approved and executed. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - APPLICATION FOR SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Code Enforcement, Fire Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Matthew O'Donnell, Wig Fashion & Jewelry, 307 South Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to sidewalk sale May through 1 1
