REGULAR MEETING " APRIL 26, 1999 <br />Contracts were approved. <br />APPROVAL OF BUILDING BLOCKS GRANT PROGRAM AGREEMENTS <br />The following Building Block Grant Program Agreements were presented to the Board for approval: <br />Big Brothers Big <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$1000 - Funding - Building <br />Sisters of St. Joseph <br />landscaping the front yard <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />County <br />Judy Butler - 130 <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$100 -Funding -Building <br />Huey <br />landscaping the front yard and <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />partial right side of house <br />Sabrina Butler - 732 <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$100 - Funding - Building <br />South Grant Street <br />landscaping front yard and right <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />and left side of yard <br />Gene & Maureen <br />Covers cost associated with <br />$100 - Funding - Building <br />Defauw - 628 Park. <br />landscaping front yard <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />Avenue <br />Near Northwest <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$1000 - Funding - Building <br />Neighborhood <br />planting flowers on entryways to <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />the Near Westside Neighborhood <br />Denisa Lynk - 813 <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$100 - Funding - Building <br />South Meade Street <br />landscaping front yard <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />Paul Retek - 1001 <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$100 - Funding - Building <br />Mayflower <br />landscaping front yard <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />Sharone Smith - 529 <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$100 - Funding - Building <br />East Altgeld <br />landscaping front yard <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />Timothy & Jean <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$100•- Funding -Building <br />Stout - 1809 East <br />landscaping the driveway island <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />Altgeld <br />1800 Block residents <br />Covers costs associated with <br />$550 - Funding - Building <br />of Magnolia Street <br />landscaping and all materials <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />needed <br />John Thornton - 1631 <br />Covers cost associated with <br />$100 - Funding -Building <br />Scott Street <br />landscaping front yard <br />Blocks Grant Program <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the Building Block <br />Grant Agreements were approved. <br />APPROVAL OF PROPOSAL - PROFESSIONAL SERVICES - EVALUATION OPTIONS FOR <br />THE END USE OF ROAD MILL MATERIAL FROM THE NEW COUNTY JAIL SITE - TRIAD <br />ENGINEERING <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that the Board is in receipt of a Proposal between the City of South Bend and <br />Triad Engineering, 300 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana, for the above referred to project. Mr. <br />v <br />Caldwell noted that the Proposal is in not exceed the amount of $4,800.00 for professional services <br />and not to exceed $5,000.00 for analytical services. Funding is provided by the Studebaker Corrdior <br />Tax Increment Fund. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and <br />carried, the Proposal was approved and executed. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - APPLICATION FOR SIDEWALK SALE PERMIT <br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Code Enforcement, Fire Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, <br />in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Matthew O'Donnell, Wig Fashion & Jewelry, 307 South <br />Michigan Street, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to sidewalk sale May through <br />1 <br />1 <br />
