<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT MAURICE MATTHYS LITTLE
<br />LEAGUE PARADE
<br />Mr. Caldwell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a
<br />request as submitted by Mr. Rick Kring, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />parade, on May 1, 1999, on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY
<br />Mr. Caldwell indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as
<br />completed by Ms. Michelle Eli, 1621 Hoover Street, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the following
<br />alley:
<br />The first north south alley west of Robinson Street from the north right of way of Randolph
<br />Street to the south right of way of the first east west alley north of Randolph Street for a
<br />distance of approximately 143 feet and a width of 7 feet. Located in Bungalow Place sub.,
<br />City of South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.
<br />Mr. Caldwell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this
<br />Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation,
<br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. Therefore, Mr.
<br />Caldwell made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council
<br />concerning this Vacation Petition. Ms. Roemer seconded the motion which -carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS LIGHT BULBS
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. George Zana, Purchasing Manager, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to items. Mr. Zana stated that each department will be
<br />responsible for purchasing the products they require. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms.
<br />Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt'of bids was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS PAINT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Mr. George Zana, Purchasing Manager, requested permission to advertise
<br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to items. Mr. Zana stated that each department will be
<br />responsible for purchasing the products they require. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms.
<br />Roemer, seconded by Mr. Caldwell and carried, the -request to advertise for the receipt of bids was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOk THE RECEIPT OF BIDS PENNSYLVANIA
<br />AVENUE CUL-DE-SAC
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Marco Mariani, Planning Department, requested permission to
<br />advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Marian stated that funding for
<br />this project :s provided by a Community Development Block Grant and Tax Increment Financing, and
<br />will construct a cul-de-sac on Pennsylvania Avenue. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr.
<br />Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was
<br />approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR PROPOSALS COLLECTION OF PAST
<br />DUE AMBULANCE ACCOUNTS - SOUTH BEND FIRE DEPARTMENT - 1999
<br />In a memorandum to the Board, Fire Chief Luther Taylor, requested permission to advertise for the
<br />solicitation of proposals for collection of past due ambulance accounts for the the South Bend Fire
<br />Department for 1999. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Caldwell, seconded by Ms. Roemer
<br />and carried, the request was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF PROPOSALS
<br />COMMUNICATION DESPATCH CENTER - SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT
<br />In a letter to the Board, Captain Gary Horvath, South Bend Police Department, requested permission
<br />to advertise for the receipt of proposals for the above referred to equipment. Captain Horvath stated
<br />that the equipment will be funded by a State of Indiana Law Enforcement Assistance Grant Program
