<br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY
<br />Mr. Gilot indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as
<br />completed by Mr. John Albers, Post Office Box 391, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the following
<br />alley:
<br />The first east west alley south of California Avenue from th east right of way of Blaine
<br />Avenue to the west right of way of the first north south alley east of Blaine Avenue for a
<br />distance of approximately 134 feet and a width of approximately 14 feet. Part located in
<br />Muessel I` Add., South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana.
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation
<br />Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation,
<br />Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. The Division of
<br />Engineering noted that the owners of Lots 112 and 113 have agreed to cross easements. Area Plan
<br />noted that the homeowner south of the alley, 822 Blaine, did not sign the petition to vacate this alley.
<br />Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common
<br />Council concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FELLOWS FROM OHIO TO
<br />CARROL - STREET FAIR
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Brenda Reed, New Hope F.G. Baptist Church 313 East Ohio Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct
<br />the above referred to block party on August 12, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Upon a motion
<br />made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - 32ND STREET FROM
<br />MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO WALL STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Gail
<br />Armstrong, 822 South 32nd Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party
<br />on August 1, 2000, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded
<br />by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - 33RD STREET FROM
<br />MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO WALL STREET - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Nancy Schroder, 822 South 3 Yd Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party on August 1, 2000, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer,
<br />seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - CUSHING FROM
<br />LINCOLNWAY TO LINDSEY - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Debra
<br />Stanley, 612 Cushing, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 22,
<br />2000, from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 4H FAIR PARADE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Mr. Rick Kring, 803 Greenview, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to
<br />parade, on July 30, 2000, beginning at 4:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
