O REGULAR MEETING JULY 24, 2000 FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE AN ALLEY Mr. Gilot indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as completed by Mr. John Albers, Post Office Box 391, South Bend, Indiana to vacate the following alley: The first east west alley south of California Avenue from th east right of way of Blaine Avenue to the west right of way of the first north south alley east of Blaine Avenue for a distance of approximately 134 feet and a width of approximately 14 feet. Part located in Muessel I` Add., South Bend, St. Joseph County, Indiana. Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations concerning this Vacation Petition from the Area Plan Commission, Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, Department of Economic Development and the Department of Public Works. The Division of Engineering noted that the owners of Lots 112 and 113 have agreed to cross easements. Area Plan noted that the homeowner south of the alley, 822 Blaine, did not sign the petition to vacate this alley. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council concerning this Vacation Petition. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FELLOWS FROM OHIO TO CARROL - STREET FAIR Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Brenda Reed, New Hope F.G. Baptist Church 313 East Ohio Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 12, 2000, from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - 32ND STREET FROM MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO WALL STREET - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Gail Armstrong, 822 South 32nd Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 1, 2000, from 6:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - 33RD STREET FROM MISHAWAKA AVENUE TO WALL STREET - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Nancy Schroder, 822 South 3 Yd Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on August 1, 2000, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - CUSHING FROM LINCOLNWAY TO LINDSEY - BLOCK PARTY Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Debra Stanley, 612 Cushing, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 22, 2000, from 5:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 4H FAIR PARADE Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Rick Kring, 803 Greenview, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to parade, on July 30, 2000, beginning at 4:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
