Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by <br />Mr. Inks and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SOUTH <br />MICHIGAN STREET IMPROVEMENTS - DONALD TO CALVERT - PROJECT NO. 100-64 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Engineering, requested permission to advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project will construct <br />public works improvements for removal and replacement of curb, sidewalk and drive approaches on <br />South Michigan Street, including removal and replacement of curb, sidewalk and drive approaches, <br />grading and planting in the treelawn. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. <br />Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - WEST SIDE <br />PARTNERSHIP CENTER - CURB SIDEWALK AND RIVE APPROACH REPAIR -MEADE <br />STREET - PROJECT NO. 100-65 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Deb Martin, Engineering, requested permission to advertise for <br />the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Ms. Martin stated that this project will construct <br />public works improvements for removal and replacement of curb, sidewalk and drive approaches on <br />South Meade Street, including removal and replacement of curb, sidewalk and drive approaches, <br />grading and planting in the treelawn. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by <br />Mr. Inks and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. 85-2000 - DESIGNATING SNOW ROUTES OF A SUFFICIENT <br />WIDTH FOR THE PARKING OF SCHOOL BUSES IN "A" RESIDENTIAL USE DISTRICTS <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the following Resolution was <br />adopted by the Board of Public Works: <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 21-8(a)(10) of the South Bend Municipal Code, the South <br />Bend Common Council authorized the parking of school buses in "A" Residential Use Districts under <br />certain specific conditions; and <br />WHEREAS, the South Bene Common Council provided that such parking of school buses <br />could only occur on designated snow routes of a sufficient width; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 21-8(a)(10) of the South Bend Municipal Code, the Board <br />of Public Works is to determine which snow routes are of a sufficient width to permit the parking of <br />school buses. <br />THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works ofthe City of South Bend <br />that the following procedures should be implemented in enforcing Section 21-8(a)(10) of the South <br />Bend Municipal Code: <br />1. The City of South Bend's Department of Code Enforcement and Engineering <br />Department are to study and measure which snow routes are of a sufficient width to safely permit the <br />parking of school buses. <br />2. A list of all snow routes that are of a sufficient width which will safely permit the <br />parking of school buses shall be available for public inspection with both the City of South Bend's <br />Department of Code Enforcement and the Engineering Department. <br />Adopted this 24"' day of July, 2000. <br />CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />
