<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - CUSHING FROM VANBUREN
<br />TO PORTAGE - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Sonya Smith, 811 Cushing, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July
<br />3, 2001, from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - ST. JOSEPH FROM HANEY
<br />TO BROADWAY - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Marta Bueno, 201 East Haney, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />July 4, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr.
<br />Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - FREMONT FROM BULLA TO
<br />KELLER - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. John
<br />Binion, 1634 Fremont, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on July 4,
<br />2001, from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell
<br />and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />REQUEST DENIED - TO CLOSE STREET - DRIVEWAY ON FORD STREET TO WALNUT
<br />STREET
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that unfavorable recommendations have been received by the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted
<br />by Ms. Katherine Wallace, 610 Walnut, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party on July 4, 2001, from 1:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The area described is on private property and
<br />cannot be blocked. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the
<br />request was denied.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - SADIE FROM ORANGE TO
<br />LINDEN - NEIGHBORHOOD BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. Ray
<br />Thompson, 205 Sadie Street, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party on
<br />August 18, 2001, from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by
<br />Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - DAYTON FROM MIAMI TO
<br />MUMFORD - BLOCK PARTY
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms.
<br />Heather Spaulding, 1119 East Dayton, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block
<br />party on July 4, 2001, from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded
<br />by Mr. Littrell and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVE LICENSE APPLICATION - GARBAGE AND RUBBISH SERVICE
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the following Garbage and Rubbish Service application has been received:
<br />NAME: Sun OK Properties/ Leif Bruskill
<br />ADDRESS: 1326 Miami Street, South Bend, Indiana
<br />Mr. Gilot further advised that a favorable recommendation has been received by the Department of
<br />Code Enforcement concerning this application. Further, the Bureau of Sanitation has inspected the
<br />vehicle(s) to be used in conjunction with this business, and has found them to be satisfactory. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the above license application was
