<br />AWARD QUOTATION - WASTE DRUM REMOVAL - 730 UNITED DRIVE - PROJECT NO.

<br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on May 14, 2001, quotations were received
<br />and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those quotations, Mr. Littrell
<br />recommends that the Board award the contract to Taplin Environmental, 5100 West Michigan
<br />Avenue, Kalamazoo, Michigan in the amount of $9,447.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that
<br />the recommendation be accepted and the quotation be awarded as outlined above. Ms. Roemer
<br />seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - 2001 PUBLIC WORKS PARTNERSHIP
<br />PROGRAM - ZONE I - KASER SPRAKER CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 101-015
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that the Board is in receipt of a Construction Contract between the City of South
<br />Bend and Kaser Spraker Construction, 25487 West State Road 2, South Bend, Indiana, for the above
<br />referred to project. Mr. Gilot noted that the Contract is in the amount of $282,875.00. Therefore,
<br />upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Construction Contract was
<br />approved and executed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - RELOCATION OF CURB STOP BOXES -
<br />KENDALL STREET - NIEZGODSKI PLUMBING - PROJECT NO. 100-70A
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on May 24, 2001, to Niezgodski
<br />Plumbing, Inc., Post Office Box 3096, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $29,430.00 for the
<br />above referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon
<br />a motion made by Mr. Gilot seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Contract was approved and the
<br />appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as
<br />submitted were filed.
<br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - 2001 PUBLIC WORKS PARTNERSHIP
<br />PROGRAM - ZONE 2 - SELGE CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 101-015
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on May 24, 2001, to Selge Construction
<br />Company, Inc., 2833 Southl lth Street, Niles, Michigan, in the amount of $233,075.00 for the above
<br />referred to project, a Contract in said amount was being submitted for Board approval. Upon a
<br />motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Contract was approved and the
<br />appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor and Materials Payment Bond as
<br />submitted were filed.
<br />LEASE AGREEMENT - SOUTH BEND CIVIC THEATER - 701 PORTAGE
<br />Mr. Gilot noted that the South Bend Civic Theater Inc. currently rents the Firehouse Theater at 701
<br />Portage Avenue from the City of South Bend for the sum of $274.49 each month under a fifteen (15)
<br />year lease which expires on June 5, 2001. The Theater would like to exercise the option to renew
<br />for an additional ten (10) years. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and
<br />carried, the information will be forwarded to the Legal Department for preparation of a five (5) year
<br />lease agreement, with maintenance criteria to be included.
<br />APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND
<br />Mr. Anthony Molnar, Engineer, Division of Engineering, recommended that the following
<br />Excavation Bond be approved as follows:

<br />RJ Septic & Excavating, Inc. Approved Effective June 4, 2001
<br />Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved as
<br />outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
