WA.O REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 26, 2001 APPROVAL OF GRANT OF EASEMENT - 2200 BLOCK MISHAWAKA AVENUE - RIVER PARK BEAUTIFICATION PROJECT In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Marco Mariani, Community and Economic Development, recommended approval of the Grant of Easement. Mr. Mariani stated that the easement allows the installation oftrees, benches and bike racks along the 2200 block of Mishawaka Avenue. The project is part of the continuing implementation of the River Park Preservation and Improvement Plan. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Grant of Easement was approved. APPROVAL OF RELEASE OF WATER LINE EASEMENTS - ERSKINE MANOR HILL DRIVE Upon a motion made by, seconded by and carried, a Release of Water Line Easements that cross the property located on the south side of Erskine Manor Hill Drive, was approved. This is for a development of a six (6) lot major subdivision on the parcel of ground. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request was approved. APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS FOR CENTURY CENTER - ENERGY EFFICIENCY CONTRACTING - JOHNSON CONTROLS Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the process of a Request for Qualifications for energy efficiency contracting for the Century Center was approved. It was noted that the Legal Department has reviewed this document, as submitted by Johnson Controls, 1255 North Senate Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana. This process will save money in energy bills for the Century Center by a lighting retrofit, expansion of computer system for the heating system and related processes. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO REMOVE CONTRACTOR FROM BOARD -UP LIST - MICHIANA BOARD UP In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Bert Prawat, Fire Department, recommended that the Board remove Michiana Board Up from the board -up list, due to non -responsiveness to board up calls from the South Bend Police and Fire Departments, as stated in the contract between Contractor and City of South Bend for this service. It was noted that the Fire and Police Departments have attempted to contact this contractor to no avail. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request was approved. APPROVE EXCAVATION BOND Mr. Anthony Molnar, Engineer, Division ofEngineering, recommended that the following Excavation Bond be approved as follows: EXCAVATION BOND MasTec North American, Inc. Approved Effective February 13, 2001 Approved Pursuant to Res. No. 100-2000 Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and that the Bond be approved as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. APPROVE TRAFFIC CONTROL DEVICE Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the following traffic control device was approved: New Installation - Speed 2700 Block of Ironwood Traffic congestion in 2700 Limit 25 MPH When block warrants sign Children Present APPROVE CLAIMS Mr. Gilot stated that the following claims were submitted to the Board for approval: 1 1 1
