REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 12, 2001 - FIVE (5), MORE OR LESS USED 2000 MID -SIZE FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES - TWO (2), MORE OR LESS NEW 2001 COMPACT FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES - ONE (1), MORE OR LESS 2001 FRONT WHEEL DRIVE PASSENGER VAN - SEVEN (7), MORE OR LESS 2001 ALL WHEEL DRIVE CARGO VANS In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matt Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicles. Therefore, upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 2001 GOOD NEIGHBORS/GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAM - CURB AND SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO. 101-015 In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will improve sidewalks, curbs, approaches and treelawns in the City of South Bend. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWO HUNDRED (200) MORE OR LESS, G.P.S. RECEIVERS AND ACCESSORIES - SOUTH BEND POLICE DEPARTMENT - PROJECT NO. 10 1 -0 15 In a memorandum to the Board, Captain Gary Horvath, South Bend Police Department, requested permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Captain Horvath stated that funding is through an Indiana Law Enforcement Assistance Grant. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was approved. APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED VEHICLES Ms. Kathy Davis, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for the sale of approximately twenty-one (21) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above request was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT MEMORY WALK 2001 Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. G. William Jack, Alzhiemer's Association, 425 North Michigan, South Bend, Indiana to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 15, 2001, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT URC CROP WALK Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Mr. James Fisco, United Religious Community, 2015 Western Avenue, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 30, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 6TH ANNUAL RIVERSIDE 4 RUN Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted by Ms. Susan O'Connor, South Bend Park Department, to conduct the above referred to run, on July 7, 2001, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
