REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 12, 2001 <br />- FIVE (5), MORE OR LESS USED 2000 MID -SIZE FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES <br />- TWO (2), MORE OR LESS NEW 2001 COMPACT FOUR DOOR SEDAN AUTOMOBILES <br />- ONE (1), MORE OR LESS 2001 FRONT WHEEL DRIVE PASSENGER VAN <br />- SEVEN (7), MORE OR LESS 2001 ALL WHEEL DRIVE CARGO VANS <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matt Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to vehicles. Therefore, upon <br />a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request to advertise for the <br />receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - 2001 GOOD <br />NEIGHBORS/GOOD NEIGHBORHOODS PUBLIC WORKS PROGRAM - CURB AND <br />SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS - PROJECT NO. 101-015 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, requested permission to advertise <br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Mr. Littrell stated that this project will <br />improve sidewalks, curbs, approaches and treelawns in the City of South Bend. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the <br />receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - TWO HUNDRED <br />(200) MORE OR LESS, G.P.S. RECEIVERS AND ACCESSORIES - SOUTH BEND POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT - PROJECT NO. 10 1 -0 15 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Captain Gary Horvath, South Bend Police Department, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Captain Horvath <br />stated that funding is through an Indiana Law Enforcement Assistance Grant. Therefore, upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, the request to advertise for the <br />receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF ABANDONED <br />VEHICLES <br />Ms. Kathy Davis, Director, Department of Code Enforcement, requested permission to advertise for <br />the sale of approximately twenty-one (21) abandoned vehicles, which are being stored at Super Auto <br />Salvage Corporation, 3300 South Main Street, South Bend, Indiana. It was noted that all vehicles <br />have been stored more than fifteen (15) days, identification checks had been run for auto theft and <br />the owners and lienholders notified. Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and <br />carried, the above request was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT MEMORY WALK 2001 <br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, <br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as <br />submitted by Mr. G. William Jack, Alzhiemer's Association, 425 North Michigan, South Bend, <br />Indiana to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 15, 2001, from 8:00 a.m. until 3:00 <br />p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. <br />Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT URC CROP WALK <br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, <br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as <br />submitted by Mr. James Fisco, United Religious Community, 2015 Western Avenue, South Bend, <br />Indiana, to conduct the above referred to walk, on September 30, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 <br />p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. <br />Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT 6TH ANNUAL RIVERSIDE 4 RUN <br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering, <br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as <br />submitted by Ms. Susan O'Connor, South Bend Park Department, to conduct the above referred to <br />run, on July 7, 2001, from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 a.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a <br />motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />
