<br />TO ENCROACH ONTO UTILITY EASEMENT - INSTALLATION OF SIGN - THE FOOD
<br />BANK OF NORTHERN INDIANA - 702 SOUTH CHAPIN
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the utility
<br />companies, as well as the Division of Engineering, Police Department, Building Commissioner and
<br />the Fire Department for a request from the Food Bank ofNorthern Indiana, 702 South Chapin Street,
<br />South Bend, Indiana, to install a sign at 702 South Chapin Street, in a utility easement. Upon a
<br />motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF CORPORATE UNDERTAKING - LOT 31/710 PENNSYLVANIA
<br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms. Roemer and carried, a Corporate Undertaking
<br />for the above referred to property was approved.
<br />FAVORABLE RECOMMENDATION - PETITION TO VACATE PROPERTY
<br />Mr. Gilot indicated that the Common Council has submitted to the Board a Vacation Petition as
<br />completed by Ms. Anne Bruneel, Baker and Daniels, 205 West Jefferson, South Bend, Indiana to
<br />vacate the following property:
<br />A portion of Greenlawn Avenue from the north right of way line of Mishawaka Avenue of
<br />the south right of way line of Wall Street for a distance of 561.5 feet, more or less, being a
<br />part of Whitcomb & Keller's 6' Sunnymede Addition to the City of South Bend, St. Joseph
<br />County, Indiana.
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt offavorable recommendations concerning this Vacation
<br />Petition from the Police Department, Fire Department, Sanitation, Department of Economic
<br />Development and the Department of Public Works. Area Plan stated that vacating this street would
<br />disrupt the public's access to Potawatomi Park from the south and result in the creation of increased
<br />traffic through the residential neighborhood to the west. In addition, vacating this street would have
<br />an impact on access to Indiana University -South Bend. As it exists today Greenlawn Avenue is a
<br />connector between McKinley Avenue and Mishawaka Avenue. Closing this street will result in
<br />increased traffic on Ironwood Drive and Twyckenham Drive, which in this area are also residential
<br />street. Mr. Littrell submitted a memorandum for a favorable recommendation. Mr. Gilot made a
<br />motion that the Board send a favorable recommendation to the Common Council concerning this
<br />Vacation Petition. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT OF WAY -
<br />INSTALLATION OF SIGN - ELOTES Y MAS - 1345 WEST DUNHAM
<br />Mr. Gilot advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Division of
<br />Engineering, Police Department, Building Commissioner and the Fire Department for a request from
<br />Mr. Lucio Cantu, Elotes Y Mas, 1345 West Dunham, South Bend, Indiana, to install a sign at 1345
<br />West Dunham. Upon a motion made by Ms. Roemer, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the
<br />recommendation was approved.
<br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CONDUCT "LIFE OF A CHILD WALK" -
<br />MEMORIAL HEALTH FOUNDATION
<br />Mr. Gilot stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of Engineering,
<br />Park Department, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as
<br />submitted by Ms. Janice Flynn, Memorial Health Foundation, 615 North Michigan, South Bend,
<br />Indiana to conduct the above referred to walk, on February 11, 2001, beginning at 11:45 a.m. until
<br />2:15 p.m., on the designated route as submitted. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Ms.
<br />Roemer and carried, the recommendation was approved.
