<br />WHEREAS, American Home Dreams, Inc., (hereafter AHD) desires to obtain ownership of
<br />the above -described real estate for development ofgood quality, affordable housing for residents with
<br />low or moderate incomes; and
<br />WHEREAS, the above -described real estate is in an area which has been targeted for
<br />redevelopment; and
<br />WHEREAS, I.C. 3 6-1-11-4.2 allows the Board to sell property not acquired through eminent
<br />domain for the purpose of promoting an economic development project or facilitating compatible land
<br />use planning; and
<br />WHEREAS, the construction of affordable in -fill housing is consistent with these purposes.
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board ofPublic Works ofthe City of South
<br />Bend, Indiana, as follows:
<br />1) The City shall transfer to AHD six parcels of real property more particularly described
<br />as follows:
<br />All that part of Lot Numbered Five A (5A) as shown on the recorded Plat of American Home
<br />Dreams Replat Subdivision, recorded August 22, 1997, in the Office of the Recorder of St.
<br />Joseph County, Indiana, as Instrument No. 9734390 that lies within Lot Seventy (70) as
<br />shown on the recorded Plat of Haney's Addition to the City of South Bend, recorded May
<br />5, 1892, in the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, in Plat Book 6, page 13.
<br />Commonly known as 229 Broadway;
<br />Lot Numbered Twenty-two (22) as shown on the recorded Plat of Southeast
<br />Neighborhood Redevelopment -Phase One, Section Two, recorded April 1, 1999, in
<br />the Office ofthe Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, as Instrument No. 9914340.
<br />Commonly known as 709 Pennsylvania Street.
<br />Lot Numbered Twenty-three (23) as shown on the recorded Plat of Southeast
<br />Neighborhood Redevelopment - Phase One, Section Two, recorded April 1, 1999, in
<br />the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, as Instrument No. 9914340.
<br />Commonly known as 713 Pennsylvania;
<br />Lot Numbered Thirty (30) as shown on the recorded Plat of Southeast Neighborhood
<br />Redevelopment - Phase One, Section Two, recorded April 1, 1999, in the Office of
<br />the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, as Instrument No. 9914340. Commonly
<br />known as 716 Pennsylvania Street;
<br />Lot Numbered Thirty-two (32) as shown on the recorded Plat of Southeast
<br />Neighborhood Redevelopment - Phase One, Section Three, recorded December 2,
<br />1999, in the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, as Instrument No.
<br />9960016. Commonly known as 702 Pennsylvania Street;
<br />Lot Numbered Thirty-three (33) as shown on the recorded plat of Southeast
<br />Neighborhood Redevelopment - Phase One, Section Two, recorded April 1, 1999, in
<br />the Office of the Recorder of St. Joseph County, Indiana, as Instrument No. 9914340.
<br />Commonly known as 638 Pennsylvania Street; and
<br />2) Said transfer shall be subject to a purchase agreement setting forth the terms and
<br />conditions of the sale.
<br />3) Said transfer shall be accomplished by a quit claim deed, executed by the Mayor of
<br />the City of South Bend and attested to by the South Bend City Clerk.
