REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 14, 2002 <br />Bid was signed by Best Equipment <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Bond was submitted <br />BID: $23,270.00 - 2002 Pipehunter Model Sidekick <br />$ 2,150.00 - Trade In <br />$ 900.00 - Dual Wheels & Rims <br />$ 125.00 - Flood Lights (2) <br />$ 500.00 - Hydraulic Accessory Kit <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the above bids were referred <br />to the Division of Equipment Services for review and recommendation. <br />OPENING OF BIDS - SALE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY - 1412 RUSH STREET <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to property. The <br />Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News <br />which were found to be sufficient. No Bids were received. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST FOR EMERGENCY AUTHORIZATION FOR THE RECEIPT OF <br />QUOTES AND AWARD CONTRACT - STUDEBAKER MUSEUM HEATING SYSTEM <br />In a memo to the Board, Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, stated that it has come to the attention of <br />the Engineering Division that the boiler that provides steam space heat at the Studebaker Museum <br />has been red tagged and is not repairable. Mr. Littrell recommended that the Board consider <br />emergency authorization to the Engineering Division to receive competitive quotes and award a <br />contract to provide heat to the museum building at the earliest opportunity. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Gilot and carried, the request was approved. <br />AWARD QUOTATION - MIAMI VILLAGE PARK - PHASE II QUOTE - PROJECT NO 102-025 <br />It was noted that quotations were received by the Board on October 9, 2002. A recommendation to <br />award this project has not been received by the Board at this time. <br />AWARD BID - SALE OF CITY OWNED PROPERTY - 1043 BURNS <br />Mr. Gary Gilot, City Engineer, advised the Board that on September 23, 2002, bids were received <br />and opened for the above referred to property. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Larry Magliozzi, <br />Economic Development, recommends that the Board award the contract to Mr. James Sharpe, <br />Sharpes Real Estate, in the amount of $510.00. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - SOUTH SIDE ANNEXATION AREA WATER AND SEWER EXTENSION <br />PHASE III - PROJECT NO. 101-20 <br />Mr. Carl P. Littrell, City Engineer, advised the Board that on September 23, 2002, bids were received <br />and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Littrell recommends <br />that the Board award the contract to Oselka Construction, Post Office Box 253, Union Pier, <br />Michigan, in the amount of $958,066.12. Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />APPROVE STANDARD FORM OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN OWNER AND CONTRACTOR - <br />FORMER OLIVER PLOW WORKS DEMOLITION - PHASE II - BIANCHI INDUSTRIAL <br />SERVICE, LLC - PROJECT NO. 100-092B <br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on September 9, 2002, to Bianchi <br />Industrial Services, Inc., 208 Long Beach Road, Syracuse, New York, in the amount of <br />$1,695,000.00 for the above referred to project, an Agreement in said amount was being submitted <br />for Board approval. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the <br />Agreement was approved and the appropriate Certificate of Insurance, Performance Bond and Labor <br />and Materials Payment Bond as submitted were filed. <br />I- <br />�J <br />
