018� <br />REGULAR MEETING JULY 8, 2002 <br />OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE OR LESS, HORIZONTAL GRINDER <br />This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. <br />The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County <br />News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: <br />C&S EQUIPMENT SALES, INC. <br />Post Office Box 379 <br />LaOtto, Indiana 46763 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Dick Caldwell <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Security was submitted <br />One (1) Model 3680 Brush Bandit $214,500.00 <br />Less Trade $ 50,000.00 <br />TOTAL $164,500.00 <br />VERMEER OF INDIANA, INC. <br />11220 Allisonville Road <br />Fishers, Indiana 46038 <br />Bid was signed by Mr. Craig Crowe <br />Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order <br />Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed <br />Ten per cent (10%) Bid Security was submitted <br />BID: <br />One (1) 2002 Vermeer HG525 $248,000.00 <br />Optional Magnetic Pulley $ 4,000.00 <br />Toro Trade Value $ 40,000.00 <br />Total w/Trade Only $208,000.00 <br />Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred <br />to Central Services for review and recommendation. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) TRUCK MOUNTED POTHOLE PATCHER <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on May 13, 2002, <br />one bid was received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing the bid, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible <br />bidder, Wildcat Manufacturing, Post Office Box 1100, Freeman, South Dakota, in the amount of <br />$129,445.00, which is the base bid of $128,945.00 plus $500.00 of options. Therefore, Mr. Gilot <br />made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. <br />Inks seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - OLIVE STREET VEHICLE STORAGE BUILDING - PROJECT NO. 102-030 <br />Mr. John Stancati, Director, Water Works, advised the Board that on October 11, 2001, bids were <br />received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Stancati <br />recommends that the Board award the contract to Kaser Spraker Construction, 25487 West State <br />Road 2, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $226,235.00, which is the base bid of $238,800.00 <br />with three (3) voluntary deductions of $12,565.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the <br />recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the <br />motion which carried. <br />
