018� REGULAR MEETING JULY 8, 2002 OPENING OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE OR LESS, HORIZONTAL GRINDER This was the date set for receiving and opening of sealed bids for the above referred to equipment. The Clerk tendered proofs of publication of Notice in the South Bend Tribune and the Tri-County News which were found to be sufficient. The following bids were opened and publicly read: C&S EQUIPMENT SALES, INC. Post Office Box 379 LaOtto, Indiana 46763 Bid was signed by Mr. Dick Caldwell Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Security was submitted One (1) Model 3680 Brush Bandit $214,500.00 Less Trade $ 50,000.00 TOTAL $164,500.00 VERMEER OF INDIANA, INC. 11220 Allisonville Road Fishers, Indiana 46038 Bid was signed by Mr. Craig Crowe Non -Collusion Affidavit was in order Non -Discrimination Commitment form was completed Ten per cent (10%) Bid Security was submitted BID: One (1) 2002 Vermeer HG525 $248,000.00 Optional Magnetic Pulley $ 4,000.00 Toro Trade Value $ 40,000.00 Total w/Trade Only $208,000.00 Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the above bids were referred to Central Services for review and recommendation. AWARD BID - ONE (1) TRUCK MOUNTED POTHOLE PATCHER Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on May 13, 2002, one bid was received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing the bid, Mr. Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Wildcat Manufacturing, Post Office Box 1100, Freeman, South Dakota, in the amount of $129,445.00, which is the base bid of $128,945.00 plus $500.00 of options. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. AWARD BID - OLIVE STREET VEHICLE STORAGE BUILDING - PROJECT NO. 102-030 Mr. John Stancati, Director, Water Works, advised the Board that on October 11, 2001, bids were received and opened for the above referred to project. After reviewing those bids, Mr. Stancati recommends that the Board award the contract to Kaser Spraker Construction, 25487 West State Road 2, South Bend, Indiana, in the amount of $226,235.00, which is the base bid of $238,800.00 with three (3) voluntary deductions of $12,565.00. Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried.
