0161 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />RESOLUTION NO. 34-2002 <br />JUNE 10, 2002 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE SOUTH BEND BOARD OF PUBLIC WORKS <br />ON DISPOSAL OF UNFIT AND/OR OBSOLETE PROPERTY <br />WHEREAS, it has been determined by the Board of Public Works that the following property is <br />unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and is no longer needed by the City of South Bend: <br />ONE (1) 1996 LUMINA VIN#G1WL52M2T1190464 <br />ONE (1) 1993 TAURUS VIN#1FALP52U3PG103698 <br />ONE (1) 1994 LUMINA VIN#WL54TCXR1108638 <br />WHEREAS, Indiana Code 36-1-11-60 permits and establishes procedure for disposal of <br />personal property which is unfit for the purpose for which it was intended and which is no longer <br />needed by the City. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works of the City of South <br />Bend that the items listed above are no longer needed by the City; are unfit for the purpose for which <br />they were intended and have an estimated value of less than five thousand dollars ($5,000.00). <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that said items may be transferred or sold at public auction <br />or private sale, without advertising. Jacob, Clerk <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION TO ENCROACH ONTO PUBLIC RIGHT-OF-WAY - <br />INSTALLATION OF AWNING - 1619 SOUTH MIAMI - VANCAMP MORTGAGE <br />Mr. Littrell advised that the Board is in receipt of favorable recommendations from the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department, Building Commissioner and the Redevelopment Design Review <br />Committee for the installation of an awning at the above referred to address. Upon a motion made <br />by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - BLACK OAK FROM OAK <br />PARK TO SCOTTSWOOD - ICE CREAM SOCIAL <br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Mr. John Roos, 1730 Oak Ppark Drive, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to <br />block party on June 17, 2002, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, <br />seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - SYCAMORE FROM LASALLE <br />TO COLFAX <br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Mr. Jim Hertel, 219 Sycamore, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred to block party <br />on June 15, 2002, from 7:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by <br />Mr. Inks and carried, the recommendation was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF RECOMMENDATION - TO CLOSE STREET - WEST WASHINGTON FROM <br />WALNUT TO CHERRY - BLOCK PARTY <br />Mr. Littrell stated that favorable recommendations have been received by the Division of <br />Engineering, Police Department and the City Attorney's office, in reference to a request as submitted <br />by Ms. Valerie Bailey, 1313 West Washington, South Bend, Indiana, to conduct the above referred <br />
