0105 <br />REGULAR MEETING APRIL 22, 2002 <br />AWARD BID - FOUR (4) PRE -OWNED COMPACT AUTOMOBILES <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Neal's Dodge, 7115 Calumet Avenue, Hammond, Indiana, in the amount of $34,800.00. <br />Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded <br />as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - SIX (6) MID -SIZE PRE -OWNED AUTOMOBILES <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Neal's Dodge, 7115 Calumet Avenue, Hammond, Indiana, in the amount of $70,800.00. <br />Therefore, Mr. Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as <br />outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - EIGHT (8) 2002 DODGE INTREPID AUTOMOBILES - POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on March 7, 2002, <br />bids were awarded to the lowest, responsible and responsive bidder, Neal's Dodge, 7115 Calumet <br />Avenue, Hammond, Indiana, for fifty-two (52) automobiles for the Police Department. This is an <br />extension of this bid for an additional eight (8) automobiles, in the amount of $136,457.20. <br />Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded <br />as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE REQUEST TO REJECT BIDS - ONE (1) MORE OR LESS, ALL WHEEL DRIVE <br />CARGO VAN <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, <br />bids were opened for the above referred to equipment. Mr. Chlebowski requested permission to <br />reject all bids as the decision has been made to purchase a full size van at a savings. Therefore, Mr. <br />Inks made a motion that the recommendation be accepted and the bids be rejected as outlined above. <br />Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which carried. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER- ROBERT BOSCH FACILITIES UPGRADE - KASER SPRAKER <br />CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 101-046 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Carl Littrell, City Engineer, has submitted Change Order No.10 on behalf <br />of Kaser Spraker Construction, Inc., 25487 West State Road 2, South Bend, Indiana indicating that <br />the Contract amount be increased $3,884.00 for a new Contract sum including this Change Order <br />in the amount of $1,915,693.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and <br />carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />APPROVE CHANGE ORDER - MIAMMUDGEDALE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENTS - <br />RIETH RILEY CONSTRUCTION - PROJECT NO. 100-090 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted Change Order <br />No. 1 on behalf of Rieth Riley Construction, 25200 State Road 23, South Bend, Indiana indicating <br />that the Contract amount be increased $3,068.00 for a new Contract sum including this Change <br />Order in the amount of $51,818.00. Upon a motion made by Mr. Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and <br />carried, the Change Order was approved. <br />APPROVE PROJECT COMPLETION AFFIDAVIT - ERSKINE MANOR HILL SUBDIVISION <br />Mr. Gilot advised that Mr. Toy Villa, Public Construction Manager, has submitted the Project <br />Completion Affidavit, for the above referred to project. It was noted that Danch, Harper & <br />Associates Inc., 2422 Viridian Drive, South Bend, Indiana, submitted various test results Upon a <br />motion made by Mr. Gilot, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the Project Completion Affidavit was <br />approved. <br />APPROVE CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT - 2002 GOOD NEIGHBORS/GOOD <br />NEIGHBORHOODS SIDEWALK PROGRAM - MCINTYRE JONES CONSTRUCTION - ZONE <br />1 - PROJECT NO. 102-019 <br />Mr. Gilot advised that in accordance with the bid awarded on March 7, 2002, to McIntyre Jones <br />
