o 1.04 <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />APRIL 22, 2002 <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - LINDEN AVENUE <br />IMPROVEMENTS - OLIVE STREET TO O'BRIEN STREET/TITLE SHEET - PROJECT NO. <br />102-001 <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Dave Koppana, Engineering, requested permission to advertise <br />for the receipt of bids for the above referred to project. Also presented was the Title Sheet for this <br />project. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the Title <br />Sheet and the request to advertise for the receipt of bids were approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - ONE (1) MORE <br />OR LESS, TRUCK MOUNTED POTHOLE PATCHER <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, requested <br />permission to advertise for the receipt of bids for the above referred to equipment. Therefore, upon <br />a motion made by Mr. Inks, seconded by Mr. Littrell and carried, the request to advertise for the <br />receipt of bids was approved. <br />APPROVAL OF REQUEST TO ADVERTISE FOR THE RECEIPT OF BIDS - SALE OF <br />ABANDONED VEHICLES <br />In a memorandum to the Board, Ms. Kathy Conrad, Code Enforcement, requested permission to <br />advertise for the sale of the above referred to vehicles. Therefore, upon a motion made by Mr. <br />Littrell, seconded by Mr. Inks and carried, the request to advertise for the receipt of bids was <br />approved. <br />AWARD BID - TWO (2) ASPHALT PATCH BOXES <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Deed's Equipment, 2203 North Michigan Road, Plymouth, Indiana in the amount of <br />$27,500.00 ($13,900.00 each, discount for two patch boxes). Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion <br />that the recommendation be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Inks seconded <br />the motion which carried. <br />AWARD BID - TWO (2) 3/4 TON FULL SIZE VANS <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of $34,602.00 <br />($17,166.00 plus $13 5.00 in options). Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />AWARD BID - ONE (1) 16,000 LB. GVW CAB AND CHASSIS <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, Gates Chevrolet, 401 South Lafayette, South Bend, Indiana in the amount of $30,120.00 <br />($29,420.00 plus $700.00 in options). Therefore, Mr. Gilot made a motion that the recommendation <br />be accepted and the bid be awarded as outlined above. Mr. Littrell seconded the motion which <br />carried. <br />AWARD BID - FOUR (4) SOLAR ARROW BOARDS <br />Mr. Matthew Chlebowski, Director, Equipment Services, advised the Board that on April 8, 2002, <br />bids were received and opened for the above referred to equipment. After reviewing those bids, Mr. <br />Chlebowski recommends that the Board award the contract to the lowest, responsible and responsive <br />bidder, US Traffic Corporation, 9603 John Street, Santa Fe Springs, California, in the amount of <br />$15,580.00 ($3,695.00 plus $200.00 in options).
